First assault down under in five days :)

Yep

It should be better than that unless they have some stupid non-motorized laws that prevent real riding. I've seen some amazing back country on skiiing and boarding films from N.Z.

And jetboating!!! There's gotta be some wicked sledding there!!! Still NZ is not Ausie land. I'm sure there is some good riding in Austrailia too!!!

Sounds like something I may have to try....:face-icon-small-coo

Thanks for posting but from what I've seen and read, snowmachining in Australia is more a novelty than anything else. Sounds like New Zealand is a much better place to go. I recall (and you briefly mentioned it) that you can't ride a sled unless you are at a ski resort or a search and rescue volunteer at a ski resort. It doesn't sound like there is much riding area available in Australia because of laws, lack of snow and private land.

Correct, its not for the main population but for us lucky few its pretty dam good. We like other places have good and bad seasons in regards to snow depth. A 10 feet base can happen but mainly its around 6 to 8 feet.

I've seen the riding in Nz and have mates that live and ride there, biggest problem there is its farmers land they mainly ride in and the weather conditions (high winds, icing snow, fog) can make it difficult.
