finger track ignorance

the finger test

depends on what type of snow you're in.for example spread your fingers, put them into the snow and rake them through the snow. in the light, fluffy stuff they go through quite easy. If the snow is like our cascade concrete that packs hard and tight you can't pull your fingers through it. And if it is ice hard you can't even stick your fingers into it.So the answer is if you ride wet packy snow they work.hope that helps you out.

I've heard people on here say it's the best. WRONG the finger track while may hook up in real hard pack is no good for the rest. And they are very fast coming down hills. Even if it's cheap stay away. Fact is if it was all that you would see it on every other sled.

If your azz itchs and you scratch it, but nobody sees you scratch it... does

your finger still stink?????????

THE ANSWER IS YES!!!!!!!! BUY A PADDLE TRACK!!!!!!

LMFAO. The only time I didn't like my finger track is in the deeeeeeeeeeep powder.

Any windblow or packed powder day it's awesome.

Don't forget...they are not just fingers...there is "webbing" between those fingers on quite a few of the paddles.

well which is it? Hardass or Scott?

I gotta know so I can buy a track for my flat land conversion.

We ran finger tracks on a number of our sleds a few years ago. Our 900's with reeds, heads and a single pipe were getting outclimbed by a stock 900 with the stock track. However, that was only in snow that had no base, and he never beat us by much. As soon as the snow set up some, the finger tracks work very well. I never noticed them being very fast coming down hills, again, depended on the snow.

I more or less agree with Scott, it works well enough on all but deep powder days, and even then, it's not horrible.

are finger tracks the ones that have little nubes on top of the padles I just bought a 800 this year and it has a padle that is about inch and half tall then on top of that there are like 3 nubes that stick up about another inch or so. Any pics of what it looks like. Ya I know its a dumb question.

No not little nubs.

nope mine isnt like that one. It has regular padles then on top of the padles they have them like that. So would mine be half a finger track :D It workes well in the powder and in the hard pack I kinda like it myslef anyway

Man that thing is ugly no wonder it doe not work x do not listen to Scott please do not listen to him. He's the kind of guy that would tell that psi had good motors Hahaha ;)there are much better tracks out there thats all.

I was wrong I will admit it

Ok ok ok I was wrong I do have a finger track heres the pics to prove it. When we went to the black hills this year It worked good. We had hard pack snow, sugary snow, and good powder. This is the first track I have had like this one. here is another dumb question then what is a ported track? ALwasy hurd the turm but never seen one.(that I know of)

What I would like to do is put a reagulare 2 inch paddle on this sled and see how they compair.

oh boy. Well Larry ya haven't steered me wrong yet....then again Scott hasn't made me puke my brains out either......

In the flat land and the marginal conditions that can show up...I'd guess you'll want a finger instead of a paddle.

The answer is the new PowderClaw from Arctic Cat. Half finger/half attack 20. Works super well in the deep fluffy, works super well on the hard pack.

PS they (finger tracks) are faster coming down hill... a few traction screws in the top of the fingers helps out though...
