Finally rode with a PRO

they must have had a weak batch i seen in another thread they were snapping then other people got over 1k miles on them and no problems.

I saw a post where the primary had been Balanced.. 160$$

and still had trouble..

Must be in the casting.. or Really bad Vibs!!

That would be him.

We went pretty easy on him, which is completely out of character for me, because he had to bail out on day 1 of a 3 day trip.

He had a few choice words for Poo.

Only other time I have seen this happen was on a 1080 PSI which had VERY BAD harmonics.

IMO, nothing is light enough when it has to be towed. He was able torideit out but it was moving the second you started it. Made for a fun ride out of the hole we were in.

I would say its nothing to be worried about the clutch and crank is the same as the last couple year 800s and we have some with 4000 miles on that are just fine!!!!

broken primary spinning at 6000 rpms.... or more? Sounds SAFE... lol

What broke in half, the primary clutch or the primary spring? Can't see being able to ride it out if the actual clutch broke in half.......

Well...it had to have been the primary spring like mentioned above....gotta love when these morons get on here and throw a fit about something and can't even say what broke. 2 Pro's that I personally know of have had the drive spring break in half....it happens. Really not a big deal.

that's a good excuse to put titanium spring back in.

I've always ran SLP's drive springs and never had one break but if you were to put them on a spring press after only a few rides you would be surprised at how much steel springs fatigue in a short period of time. Titanium is much less likely to show this fatigue but is also much more expensive.

It wasn't the spring or atleast it wasn't on the one I saw. The actual shaft and sometimes the sheaves is what is breaking off. People are having to weld it back together just to get the primary off the crankshaft. There is a thread on here that has pictures of what is happening so you don't have to decipher my poor explanation. :)

It was the clutch that broke not the spring. Gotta love morons heh?

It's not just Pro's doing it either. Friend of mine had his break just like that on his 09 700 RMK. Guess he didn't think to weld the clutch back together to pull it off, so he ended up wreaking his crank too with trying to get it off. Wish he would have called me before trying what he did. Could have saved a crank. lol
