Finally rode with a PRO

Well...it had to have been the primary spring like mentioned above....gotta love when these morons get on here and throw a fit about something and can't even say what broke. 2 Pro's that I personally know of have had the drive spring break in half....it happens. Really not a big deal.


Maybe you should read the original post before calling others morons.

I very clearly stated that the "PRIMARY" broke in half. I know the word "PRIMARY" and the words "PRIMARY SPRING" are often confused with one another, but that is not the case here.

It appears that there are a bunch of them out there in snowmobile land that have had the same issue.

After mine broke I rode it back to the truck, the clutch bolt was holding it on and it stayed engaged so therefore it wouldn't idle but it did get out on it's own power:face-icon-small-hap

I guess **** happens, but I for one wont loose any sleep over this.

They've been putting poo primarys on just about anything as an improvement for years. Specially when going up in Hp.

Some p-85's may fail and it seems strange, but usually there is a reason.
I suspect many of these mysterious havocs are due to people/dealers not torqueing the primarys correctly when reinstalling, say after putting the right weights in one.

Then when you're out riding the clutch slips on the crank and you have a 150Hp wrench tightening your bolt...
