f250 2004 injectors?

your Injector Pressure Regulator went down, Hi pressure oil pump went down or lost its prime thus putting air into the HPCR oil supply to the injectors, or you lost injectors.....

only way to know is if you had a scan tool.

Had my cam position sensor go out on mine. It would start up and run fine then just DIE. Start back up and run for like 2 mins then die, it is a recall tho so the fix is free, too bad my tow back to town cost my insurance $450 tho. If its having trouble starting, my 02 7.3l had a glow plug relay go out. Quick fix and only a $38 part at NAPA (dont go through stealership) Not sure if the 04s had the relay or the GPM (glow plug module) which is about $220. Gotta love the 7.3 just as a cost savings on maintenance parts over the new generation powerstrokes

Agreed. Mine's been pretty cheap to own. Only had to do a trans at 83k. Have done cam shaft sensor twice. Fuel filter was plugged once. LOL

the 7.3 were the gems of their time. no doubt. everybody and their dog had one. i'll bet i knew 25 differnt guys that had 7.3's. just about everyone of them now have something. else. bout half of them had 6.0's. then sold them with in a year. one of them went through 3 turbo's, 2 complete sets of injectors. got towed into the dealer 5 different times. 3 of those when it was less than 6 months old. the other two were on his 2 week vacation....lol......lost a set of injectors on the way down to AZ. lost both head gaskets on the way back........ this truck was stock as the day is long by the way...... he dumped it. took about a 20 grand bath on the whole deal. bought an 06 mega cab 5.9, and been enjoying not ever going to the dealership anymore. he told me he wished he never sold his 96'.

the worst part about the 6.0's is that they remove the cab to do anything on the engine. then they are riddled with air leaks, squeaks on the cab mounts.

what a deal huh.

i'm not really familiar with the newer 6.4's. but from i've been hearing from some local guys here is that they get about 13mpg unloaded....... no thanks... isnt that what a an EFI big block gasser does?

I wonder if thats the same thing people will be saying bout the 5.9 now that cummins has a new motor in the dodges??? I actually looked at an 07 5.9 because my local dealership is a stealership, it was a nice truck I just couldnt justify the $45k price tag when my 02 only has 50k miles on it.

you could be right Idaho Ice. Time will tell right? I know that i'm not excited about any of these new Teir III trucks at all.
