EZRyde vs Timbersled on Nytro

Hey. Looking to upgrade the Nytro to a 162". Motor is still stock, turbo next year. Sled used mostly for boondocking and backcountry access. There is a lot of talk on here about the Timbersled setup. Anyone running the EZRyde? Is it worth the extra bucks to be able to just bolt in the EZRyde? Setup pretty straight forward? Thanks for the help.

I just got an EZ-ryde for my MCX Nytro and it is definately a nice skid. Very light too, not as light as the timbersled though. I personally did not like the timbersled, front good, rear not so good IMO. (not a fan of Floats either), sold it, bought an Ez-ryde. I know a few guys running up to 20 and 22 psi on apex's with ezryde, they perform well.

I got an ez-ryde in mine & I like it!Had a little problems getting it to work with the rear mount turbo, but Christian & Steve did some engineering work and built me some new brackets. They have it all figured now!Tried it out in Revy for a week this past spring and it's all good!

I too want to change out my stock suspension - I've been looking at Timbersled and EZ Ryde as well. I have no plans to upgrade to a turbo or supercharger.

I'd like to hear others opinions on what they went with and why??

Thanks!

The EZ Ryde comes ready to bolt in, everything included. If you add up everything you need for the timbersled there really is not much difference.

no experience with EZ-ryde...

plenty of experience with Timbersled...LOVE it!!!! by far and away, the best mod you can do to a sled is the suspension...IMHO....

for me the timbersled is the path I went for two reasons...Allen (owner) will always treat you fairly, and is VERY focused on ensuring he puts out and supports a great product!!! Second, it is extremely ligt yet with the 09 updates, it is dramatically stronger...

he is even working on a BIG boost kit for it taht will more than accomplish the high HP sleds...

however, if you are not going BIG boost...I would not think about another kit than Timbersled

Why do you guys mention that if you running "big boost" you should maybe reconsider what suspension. What does your horsepower have to do with suspension. More weight transfer etc?

M10 is also a good skid for huge HP but for your average boost BD & Hillclimbing guy the Timbersled is hard to beat. I have talked to bolth sides some love the Timber and have tried and Easy Ryde and hated it I think it's all in how you adjust it to your ridding style and setup.

I am going to get the kmod setup. Track down Tookes he has the kmod.

It is not as light weight as the timbersled but at what point do you make it too light and sacrafice reliabiltiy?? According to kevin at Kmod the suspension set up is 17lbs less and his drop brackets are 5lbs less and as he stated if timbersleds drop brackets lose 8lbs then that makes them 1lb each. I agree that is how much they weight because I have them on my wifes vector and I can bend them with a pair of pliers hmmm.
I did not buy a yamaha because it was light I bought it because it is a 4 stroke and for reliability. Just my .02

Biggest issue with the M10 is the money you have to spend to get it to work right.

If you order one box stock from FAST you will be very disappointed. Throw a handful of money at it and it works well.

I have run an EZ on a stock REV and it worked well. I have one under my boosted Nytro for this year so time will tell.

I have many friends who were very unhappy with the timbersled and have changed to something else for this season.

My .02, take it or leave it.

Timber Skid!!!!!!

Well i loved my Timber on my nytro last winter with no boost, Stock Sus. Sucked big time. This year i am running the Impulse Race kit only time will tell how it works under boost.
As for Allen and Bud they stand by there product 100% if there is a problem they fix it quickly and for little or no money. I bent the rear arm, My fault not theres and they fixed it for free because they felt it took them to look to get it back to me. The grass was still green when i got it back I really hope it works under boost i don't think you/I will find very many people who stand behind there product as well as they do IMO.

This all helps me with my decision alot!!

I ran timbersled skid last year and i flipt it over backwards i think the skid could be better on holding the ski down but it is miles ahead of stock skid

I agree!!!!

There are many parts on an F-18 I could bend with a pair of pliers as well....but then, pliers aren't a normal occurrence and source of damage on the snow, nor in the air!!!

If you're after something bullet and "plier" proof, buy a tank and deal with the weight. If you want some well and purpose built performance parts, the people on this forum can help point in the right direction, one of them being the Timbersled drop brackets.
