Extra hood strap on my M Series

Where have you mounted an extra hood strap on your M's?

Does anyone have a pic? Close up?


This is the only pic I could find online. You can see the second sled in this picture has the hood straps.

just get a phazer hood strap

I like the phazer style hood straps the best. They require simple hardware and They cinch down as tight as you want. My stock ones broke the first ride.
(Where they latch on to the hood). Thanks for reminding me.

I have purchased the XTC racing tie downs. The look like the old Phazer tie downs. Has anyone mounted them and where did you mount them?

catcrashr could you post a pic from the inside of your hood. I love the way the cat head vent looks but don't know how much venting it allows. thanks

I can't remember were I got the peg part on the hood but they are a black piece that you just drill a small hole and put a screw through the hood into the peg part on the outside. I think I got them from dennis kirk. For the strap part I got a extra set like whats already on the Ms drilled a hole in the sidepanel and put it in. They work great and I think look really clean. If anyone wants I can take a closer pic.

I bought mine from HRP.

As usual they are great quality. Billet pucks, super strong rubber, and the design is sim. to the phazer.

Has anyone put hood straps on up by the front vents. I picked up a lexon hood dirt cheap. was going to put on 2 extra sets of hood straps. 1 where i see most of you putting them on the side panels. was wondering if anybody had any up front. My sled tends to roll once a ride. wanna keep the hood attached.

I've used AC's straps for years from the ZR chassie. Part # 1606-067.
Here is how I've done it:

I put mine further back... I didn't see where anyone else was putting them and it just made sense to me at the time. It does hold the hood down nice and tight. U just gotta hope the vents hold up if it rolls.

*Edit* Damn, now that I think about it I was dumb for putting them on the vents. Oh well, such is life and it is done now.

Sorry I don't have a picture. I use the Sno Pro hood straps off the 03-06 Sno Pro race sled. I mounted them in the same place as Runner8 mounted his.

Extra rubbers help but still can come loose unless you set them super tight,,,,,,,ratcheting buckles off of snowboard bindings are the way to go. Plus you can snug em as tight or loose as you want.
