Extended Warranty ?'s

Looking for anybody who has used the polaris aftermarket warranty. I recently broke some parts of the motor mount (bolt 13 that goes into part 10) and took to the dealer and he said it was going to get warrantied. He told me it would probably be just the $50 deductible and the cost for the anti-freeze. Well I get a call today saying that the aftermarket warranty company is only going to cover three hours and the parts. Dealer tells me now that I have to pay the additional four hours of labor plus the $50 deductible and coolant. So is this a normal thing for the warranty company to do or is this dealer blowing smoke trying to get more money? Just wondering who out there has dealt with aftermarket warranty claims.

Sounds like a dealer thing to me.. The Warranty company says it takes X ammount of time to do this job, but in the real world it takes four hours longer. It sucks but you may have to go to a different dealer that will take it on. Or you can get the parts under the warranty program and fix it yourself. They shouldn't have any problem with that, considering they will still pocket 3 hours of labor for nothing.

PS you didn't just find anybody to talk to about the extended program... I bet with all the BS over the last 3 years, they have payed out MSRP on 2 complete sleds for me. Just haven't been one of the "lucky" ones.

Im having a hard time being ok with that since I was quoted the original $50 deductible plus coolant. Seems like the dealer should eat the remaining cost because they couldn't get it done in the time allotted. The fifty dollars quoted was the only reason I took it to them. I wasn't going to take it to the dealer but it required pulling the engine so $50 would have been worth it. I could have bought all the tools and beer I would have needed to do it myself.

Not sure what to tell you if the dealer won't do it... I suppose it is their right to say no, just doesn't look very good on their part. I know that my dealer would get it done, they have been great. Call another dealer and see what they say, maybe they can shed some light on the situation for you.

i would deff talk to a warranty advisor and another dealer and service manger before u pay that, raise a stink or they will just take your cash and move on,also when u r talking nicely to your service manger ask him for the number for the warranty advisor and c if his tune changes if not keep calling peeps tell u get answers on why u r paying for warranty work

Someone is blowing smoke.

I think you should read your Polaristar Protection Agreement.
I don't see any time frame limitations on warranty work.
If it takes your dealer 7 hours to replace motor mount bolts, he/she should take up another line of work.

Well contacted the warranty company and it's legit. Raised hell with them and they agreed to pay for another hour of labor. Think the dealer learned to better quote people. He knows I'm not happy but I really want to ride this weekend. Learned my lesson...

I've done a whole bunch of these claims and still doing em and the only thing I can tell you is thats the slowest tech I've ever heard of. To take the engine out and put back in 1hr 15 min total, next to remove the broken bolt ( steel into aluminum is easy to somewhat hard at most) now if he's putting a new case in thats way more time but were that the case the warranty covers that time. You need to sit down with the service guy or dealer principal and have them show you the Polaris flat rate book and explain why they can't stay somewhat close to it. No need to get pissy just want to know why it cost so much. Also on a newer machine they should have an antifreeze extraction tub and reuse it just add as needed. IMO
