Exit or raptor?

I can't speak for exits, all I can speak for is Raptor vs stock without clickers. Raptors are way better. I'm to sick right now to write why so thats all I got.

Just got Exit X1's...again. They are amazing. The guys at Zbroz really dial you in. I just think an oil shock with triple rate springs works. I've ridden my buddies sled side by side with mine. He has the QS3R shocks all around. They are really good, but I prefer the Zbroz. I'm guessing that the Raptors are very similar to the Exits.

Also raptor. Had them on my 14 pro. Then I bought a axys in 16,Sent the shocks to Jake at raptor, and he serviced them + made a little adjustment to fit the axys. Very happy with them, 4 seasons going on 5 now.

Exit and Raptor really are not in the same level of category. Exit shocks are better than stock but not anywhere at the level of say Raptor or some others.

The Raptor company themselves is far above Exits/Zbroz in every way.

The shock technology is far superior, there are features that you simply can not find in any other shock.

From billet shock bodies, R-Tride coating, TRS springs, Anti-Pack valve and crazy adjustability....

I choose Raptor!

and to add to that... the new rebound adjustability-with just a few clicks!!

Any of the top notch offerings from Raptor, Exit, Fox or (gasp) Walker Evans (5/8" needles) are going to kick butt ***if*** valved and sprung correctly for the rider, application and sled.

The addition of more external adjustment is great, but most people just get in trouble with these fiddle knobs as they don't understand how they impact the ride of the sled in the first place.

To add, don't get too sucked into the marketing jargon of each company. All these shocks at the top level function very similarly and a lot of what each company claims can be achieved through custom valving anyway..

The best shock in the world setup poorly will get its butt kicked by a mediocre shock valved and sprung correctly. I'd go with the one your dealer will stand behind and work with you on when it comes to making it do exactly what you want it to do... (or the one you personally feel most comfortable working on)

Explain why. This just sounds like you sell Raptor shocks. The items listed above don't sound like it is "far superior"

Why?

I rode Exits and the 39" ARS front end for years and thought they were great. I seen Raptors but everyone I knew rode Exits. I got a cat that had Fox EVOL-R and was excited to try them from all the hype. They had infinite adjustability but a pain to adjust very easy. The quick Dial on the EXIT was so simple. Last year I decided to try Raptor, and man did I wish I had switched years ago. Just the first sight of them out of the box and I knew they were a quality product and far better than EXIT. The coating, the anodizing, large knobs for adjusting with gloves, just a better overall fit n finish. And after first few miles up trail I could tell the performance was a few steps above. One click on the Raptor and you felt the change, it seemed like 3-4 clicks on my Exits before you noticed it. Plus the Raptor clicks were very definite, on Exit I couldn't always tell a click or indent when dialing. I was told that the Raptor shocks have a formula used for each rider to build the shock, where as the Exits are about 3-4 different shells with a set amount of parameters. The Raptors truly are a one off custom setting for each rider, not just close? Any way, the Raptors with the Kmod 37" front are just an awesome setup. The geometry is just perfect! I know one thing, Keith Curtis could pretty much pick any company he wants, and he chose Raptor, with his input they are going to just get better!! And with the new Rebound adjust, quick cam, good things to come!!

I appreciate the input. I agree with the bigger knobs. I've heard that the Raptors have more "impact" once adjusting is done with the knobs. No offense, but you also are a Raptor sponsored person.

Apparently raptor shocks are only good if you are a dealer or sponsored! Well I'm not sponsored and as for as I know you can only get raptors through raptor or possibly Kmod, thats what helps keep the price down! But what would I know :) Raptors rock, total control, balance and perfection! You won't be a believer until you try them.

I never said that. But if you've been around here long you know that it is not uncommon for people to talk up products that they either sell or are sponsored by. The original post was asking about which shock to go with. I was just trying to help the guy get good feedback. I believe that the Raptor is a great shock and have only ridden one sled with them.

Agreed... Its getting really hard to get an unbiased opinion on anything with all of these sponshured guys and dealers in the performance section.
