Excessive belt heat, help me out.

Also check your deflection. I have seen alot of tight belts this season as many sleds are getting 3-4yrs old. If the washers are already removed from the 3 adjuster bolts on the back of the secondary, then it may be time for new bolts. The clutches were made to work within a certain spec for belt deflection, and a tight belt is not good.

mine might be a hair tight, i will check it out.

I adjusted my secondary to have only maybe 5* of wrap on it.. seems much better. the way the cat springs are set up, 1-0 is a LOT of freakin wrap. we shall see how that helps as well.

Excessive belt heat

How well is your engine attached to your bulkhead. Could the center to center distance be changing under power?

nope, i got my new motor mounts done this year and it stays PUT!!!

I got it fixed. changed the preload on the secondary so it has none. also adjsted my belt deflection as it was getting a little tight. it worked awsome all day yesterday. bunch of back to back to back wot pulls at 14-16# of boost and it was doing awsome. traction was out of controll crunch stuff so rpm was dead on about 10,500. when i got lower into some rotton snow, it was rev limitering quite a bit. time for some more weight.

with the nonstop riding and making plenty of pulls in a row the clutches got warm enough it was a tad uncomfortable to hold your hand on, but just goofing off with any amount of cruising time between pulls, they stayed luke warm.
