Excess oil residue from exhaust. Thoughts?

My dad just picked up a Pro R switchback 136. It's a 2012 with 600 miles. Seems to be a lot of oil coming out the exhaust. There is pretty much a puddle of oil on the floor after running it in the shop.

So I'm thinking either the dealer pre mixed the fuel real heavy, the oil pump is cranked to the nuts, or the foged the engine real heavy.

Any other ideas why this would be happening. Going to pull a fuel sample from the tank and check that, but don't know how to adjust the pump on these motors yet or how to check the cylinders. Thoughts?

Both my 12 and 13 have done this. During idle the exhaust isnt being pushed out fast enough to get through the pipe.

I personaly wouldnt turn down the oil pump.

I wouldn't do anything. Wait until it has been on the snow for a good ride then let it sit and see. It could be fogging oil, and it will burn out. You won't really know if you have a problem until it's been run a while at normal operating temps. Too much oil is better than not enough!

Ditto

Could be it was fogged AND blowing all the excess oil out

You should also check the connection where the exhaust pipe connects to the Y-pipe. Run your hand under the bottom side and see if it's leaking. And look to see if the bottom of your belly pan has oil on it. A lot of folks on here have had that problem. Starting a cold motor will puke oil out of that connection until things get hot and expand. I couldn't believe how much black crap was leaking on my '11 Pro, which ended up dripping on my trailer floor. Simple fix is to disconnect the pipe/Y-pipe, put a nice bead of hi-temp sealant around the inside of the exhaust pipe, connect it back together and let 'er sit for a day before you fire it up.

One other thing to check is the drain hose from the exhaust valve solenoid. It's a short black hose that dumps right into your belly pan. Add an extension and re-route it to a spot where it dumps outside your engine compartment, like your exhaust pipe outlet.

Atta boy Z! Good comments.

One other thing I would check is the entire oil pump system. Make sure there are no kinked oil lines and no bubbles. Be sure the linkage rod is attached to the pump arm.

This is where mine is spewing. Will the red hi temp stuff work on this ? , or is there something else better suited ?
