Ever feel guilty about spending too much on your ol' 9?

I started getting that guilty feeling today as I ordered new track, rails, and drivers. Also getting the turbo stuff lined out, and can't help but feeling that I'm spending more money on the 9 than I should! Anybody else get that feeling too from time to time? I keep telling myself that I should be putting that money towards a newer sled. As sick as you can make these 900s, when its all said and done you are still stuck with a 2005-06 900 worth about $3500. :mad: Somebody make me feel a little better here!

NEVER ! You put Money Into a New sled and your starting with a stocker! a turbotractor is is a whole other beast !

i get the same feeling when i spend money on my 755 . but then i rember hell anyone can buy a new sled it take a real die hard to build a old one to be better then new ones. buy the way the newest sled in the group i ride with is a 07 600 iqr

900 builders

I was once told that when you buy a seld, it's not a investment but a hobbie.
And it's not going to make you money, but cost you money if you want to ride. I spent to much this year to, but plan to spend more next year.
Got to spend money to have fun & you can't take it with you!:D:D

There ya go. That made me feel better! haha The older you get the less you can do it and the more it hurts. Might as well be young and dumb as long as I can right?:D

Lots of good one liners in this thread. But seriously, go buy a new sled for 10-12 grand, and loose 3g's the moment it hits the snow. Then upgrade some parts, after you realize that it needs some modifying to unchoke it to really make her purr. Before you know it, your into it for 15 grand and you haven't even had a chance to run it into some trees!! Go buy a cookie cutter machine and be the same as everyone else. Not my style at all. I've got 10 g's into mine(including purchase price), and she will be leading the pack this season. I'll see how many doos she will be pulling out of the mountains!!:D

Couldn't have said it better myself...

My sled is older but it's got all the bells and whistles and I guarantee it'll spank everyone of the new sleds in every way shape and form... unless you've got a turbo/supercharger

ever since i have been sledding seriously i spend atleast 2000 a year on my sled. stock sucks. i have bought 3 new sleds and i won't buy another new one. i can only ride about 3 weeks a year and i want them to be the best darn 3 weeks of the year so what the hey.

do i regret it sometimes? well maybe in the middle of the summer but that is for like 1 minute then i remember bustin the pow pow or pulling that shutte and it all goes away with this big ars grinn on my face :D:D:beer; you can't take the money with ya when ya go so spend it and enjoy while you can.

I bought my 9 about 2 months ago first one ever, and spent all kinds of $$$ on it! It was generally new 746 miles on it. Have all the updates except pistons so just make it through 1 winter with it and summer tear down will be done and I don't have 1 problem with that! new sled? Yeah sure, but they get beat by older souped up ones everyday! I'll just keep it, the longer you own it the better you know it and with that comes a tried and trued sled! Atleast yer not scratchin' yer head wondering what's wrong with my $10,000.00 brand new sled when it takes a poop! They all do at one time or another!

Snowmobiling is an expensive life style, err, I mean hobby. And it does not matter how much you make a year. From the guy who keeps his sled stock, to the guy who puts on a turbo, lightweight parts, the whole 9 yards, it costs a ton of money, parts, gas, trips etc etc. BUT, it is worth EVERY penny. Sledding is my only hobby, I can only afford one, and this is the one I choose.:beer;
