Ethanol free fuel

FYI...All the Jardine shops are now Thomas, so it's the same product. Signage is expensive.

My biggest concern about the ethanol in motors that sit around or are seasonal, is that ethanol as a cleaning agent/solvent flushes all the crap that would normally build deposits right through the system. That kind of thing will take down a motor/fuel pump real quick. This is not as noticeable in a motor that doesn't sit.

I would suspect that 88 would be fine at our elevation. Just think about the same sled setup running in Michigan, Alaska coast, or other low elevation. If they are fine on 91 we are golden on 88 at 8K'+.

Craigs

Hi Guys,
After downloading that awesome app mentioned above, I stopped at Craig's this week and at the Tesoro in Orem just today. Craigs does indeed have 91 ethanol free and the tesoro does have 88 ethanol free. I was, however, a little disappointed to see that Craigs has 91 ethanol free, but not 88 that is ethanol free. Oh well.

I will try and swing by Craig's this week and test their fuel for ethanol content. I have a hard time believing they have 91 ethanol free.

Thomas peteoleum and Silver eagle only have 88 ethanol free now and the reason is, the refinery blends 88 octane and then adds the 10% ethanol which boosts the octane to 91.

Please do as that is who I get my ethanol free from. When I have to use ethanol on my Pro's, I siphon out all the gas when done riding and put it in my car. I also add Yamaha Fuel MD RX and Motor MD RX and use nothing but fresh gas - love the ethanol/non ethanol plug on the Pro's

+1

Yeah, that would be great to find out if their 91 really is ethanol free.

thanks much, I look forward to hearing your results.

So you can run 88 ethnal free fuel and be ok?

Hypothetically yes, as long as you are riding 8,000' plus in my rudimentary judgement.

As ACutah stated earlier... guys @ sea level are running 91 octane gas w/ no problems, then add 8,000' elevation but lose 3 octane points (88 Octane), I don't think it could really create a problem.

You lose 3 octane points, but gain a bunch of power and stability/ shelf life.

I was in Ogden recently and took a photo of the station for the ones of us who have not been there. It is very simple to find. Take the 4th North exit, go west of freeway, turn North on 2000 W, go about a ½ mile and the pumps are on the east side of the road.

Supposedly it's 92 octane ethanol free at Craigs. I swung in Saturday but the building is closed on weekends so nobody to answer any questions. Let us know what you find. Thanks!

Whats the name of that station? Have you tested the gas there?

so buy 88 octane ethanol free and mix it with 101 ethanol free race fuel. the ratio is 1 part 101 3 parts 88. this gives you 91.25 ethanol free fuel.

Stopped by Craig's service a few weeks ago, and bought 30 gallons on 92 octane. Nobody was there to confirm it was non ethanol, but there were no ethanol stickers on pump, so I'm pretty sure it's ethanol free. Payed around $4.20 a gallon (can't remember the exact price).

I stopped at Craig's Service a couple weeks ago and bumped into Craig (the owner) He confirmed the high octane gas he has is non ethanol, however he told me it is not 92 octane it's 91, he just hasn't changed the sticker. The other grades of gas he has in lower octane do have ethanol. I asked where he gets his gas from... told me NV.

If you buy gas there be sure to let him know word is spreading he has the good gas and we appreciate him doing what he can to make the effort to keep getting it.
