All the Utah registration fees are getting outrageous. But heres my .02. Why the hell does the state get sales tax on used items? The original owner already paid the sales tax and every buyer after him. You dont get taxed on used items on ebay, garage sales, god forbid if they taxed purchases on KSL(Id be screwed).
I bought a 15 year old truck and if I didnt fudge the paperwork I would have paid $400 in sales tax ON A USED ITEM!!!! If you buy a vehicle in a state with lower sales tax and then register it in Utah you have to pay the sales tax difference!! for what?!
