Engine Temps / TRS Kit

What you just described is why I suggested checking the exh sensor resister that is part of your kit. It "fools" the computer into thinking the pipe is still hot so the computer doesn't add fuel to help the pipe heat up lol.
It could be loose. Cheap connectors that are loose to start, add some dielectric grease (eh TRS lol) and that COULD be your richness.

Something else, the SLP can brings a lot of heat (especially if it is crisp running) closer to this area (thermo mod area and QD belt) due to it's size. I noticed the heat after the first test ride so double wrapped the plastic thermo housing (now triple wrapped and next rebuild it will be quadruple wrapped lol, sorry the Olympics have me counting the spins lol).
It is plastic, it can warp, the sell lots for some reason, don't know if any of this is your problem, just throwing thoughts from a different direction at you.

The "warping" possibility is part of the reason i went with the terra alps kit, uses an aluminum housing vs the plastic.

Geo, what do you meen buy exhaust resistor for pipe sencer, in the kit? Is it in the slp stage 4, or in TRS $28 kit thanx.

I am running the Northstar kit with the $28 kit. I always wait until I have 100* before riding. I stay between 104* - 112* most of the time. I have not had any issues with performance. Just be patient, warm up/heat soak and not an issue for me.

I got the terra alps t stat, think I have a stuck t stat or some thing. In fresh pow I can't get over 105f, thats to the bar for over a min. ( No problem there)When just crusing in the pow,1/2-3/4.I'm down to 90-96f. And sled gets rich then. Would it be a stuck t stat ? Or somthing else? Thanx for the help

That's about what I am seeing too although I haven't had any long wot runs. Stock or aftermarket head?

That sounds about right to me.

There is pics on the Terra Alps facebook page showing the stock polaris stat,
The bypass valve or disk as you called it doesn't close til 155'f on the skidoo thermostat
The bypass is fully closed at 120'f on the Terra Alps stat kit flowing 300% more coolant then the stock polaris stat.

This so called $28 fix will cost more then 28 dollars for the avg joe and still does not fix the problem. but to each there own.

This is a post from Terra Alps, maybe your temp problem is built into Ted's combo. mounted up on a Polaris. Ted posted the opening temp of his stat, I will try and find it.

I have the par head aswell (13.6 domes) and wonder if it is the cause for a tad cooler running than expected?

Ted told me the stat opens at 90 and bypass fully closed at 120.

I have a lot of venting too.

I found it on Ted's Facebook page. Terra Alps stat is almost fully open at 110* and the BRP is not. The BRP supposedly opens at 99* and Ted's at 90*. I know what temps the PI 800 like.

I have thought about decreasing the size of the restrictor in the stock tstat spot. Going to wait until I hit the mountains first though.

On another note, my Carl's ves 910 ran about the same temp with just a restrictor (no stat).

And they ran very well that way. So did the 800 Dragons.

I had this t stat before you posted you're set up TRS or I would have saved some cash and had the right temp. Now I need to find on that work for the temp range of the pro motor.

Hope my napa dealer can find one to fit, if I get a t stat at at 100-120f range,to fit in the terra alps body, should my temp not stay at 120f if that's what number the t stat is. If in good pow of course ?

Ya ill try a smaller washer in the stock t stat spot. It's not boggy or any thing some might leave it.
