Engine RPM's

I have a 2007 RMK 600 144 and it runs pretty good. I know in the service manual that the rpm range is 8100 +/- 200. Can anyone tell me what is happenning to the sled when the engine is running at that +200 range?
I notice over the weekend that my sled hit 8250/8300 rpm's on the tach a few times.
Just looking for some insite if I may have a problem with the belt or something else. The sled is set up per the servise manual settings and it seems to run real good.

If its holding @ 8200- 8300 I wouldn't worry about a thing. The 600s love to rev. Had a 06 600 and when clutched and jetted right, It ran best @ 8300. They tell you +-200 rpms because they want you in the power band. They want you to be near the 8100 mark. I will tell you that the sled will run better @ 8300 than 7900.

The higher you go the less weight you need in your primary clutch. We're running 10-54's at the trailhead(10,600 feet)on the wife's 07 RMK 600 with some mild mods and pulling 8100 or so.

You say it hit 8250/8300 a couple times, were you on hardpack with the track spinning? If so and it only did it a couple times and you were at low altitude not to worry.Better to rev high at a lower altitude and rev at the 8100 when you get to the higher riding areas.

Snow conditions will ener let you over rev, 8200 to 8300 is not anything to worry about like jthussey said. Put it under a good load and it should drop right in the sweat spot.

Just my two penny's

I agree, better to rev a little high on Hardpack but pull the correct RPM in the deep.:face-icon-small-hap

I have the same problem with my D8, it is not a big deal to watch it on the trail, and sure makes it nice when you start pullen!! :D:eek: YE HAAAA!!!
