engine mod suggestions

i know modding a 500 isn't the best way to go, but under limited budget, can anyone suggest things I can do to the non-APV 500 case reed motor? ive seen some people remove the airbox and cut holes/mesh in front of body and wondered if that would be worth doing. maybe mill the head a bit? anyone done the math or actually milled theirs that could specify dimensions? any suggestions welcomed. again, i know its a 500, just looking for a little bit more spunk for relatively low cost. thanks.

Best bang for the buck is in clutching. A good clutching setup will make a big difference in the fun factor and not break the bank. Beyond that, my opinion, start saving for a newer machine w/ bigger motor and don't put a ton of money into it. You'll be happier in the long run and get way more power/performance.

should be a shop or two that could port that engine..with a head shave...but you would likely need some higher octane fuel for deto if you shave the head..the ext 550 was a wicked little engine ported and head shave and black magic pipes..man alive it roasted stock 700s in its day in powder and hill climbing
