Engine Failures

So far ride the crap out of it, zero issues, always use 1 oz gallon pre mix. GREAT sled.

I guess people don't consider injectors to be a motor failure?

For those that have had injector failures, what were the symptoms?

Check engine light came on on my machine and had injector codes. It would foul the plugs and run on one cylinder. Changed the injectors out and runs fine
now.

Out of the 40ish in our area this year one lost a pto rod bearing and one has had the "hesitation" issue. Best first year sled we've sold in years. Glad to hear yours is keepin a smile on ur face craig

Got mine from Kinzers shop. Check eng light at 500 miles, new exh temp sensor fixed it. One broken primary spring, that's ALL. Runs awesome!!! 875 miles now.

I lost a rod bearing right at 400 miles. I was down for 3 weeks. Polaris told my dealer to have me pre mix 40:1 for 200 miles after the motor rebuild. I'm at 550 miles running strong and ready to stop running this damn premix!!!

Also sometimes if I turn hard to the right my exhaust plugs up and it bogs, kinda annoying but not a motor issue.

All things considered I really do love the sled.

3100 miles on my 800 assault SB running strong. buddy has 1800 and his to running awesome. just traded mine up for a 2012 assault SB. and put our extra ski doo into a SB 800 looking forward to next year!

1094 miles, No Engine issues, had hesitation around 200 miles, was a bad premium resistor plug, after having that replaced under warranty, sled ripped all season.

My engine seized at 500 miles, pto piston, 360* scuffs, cause was bubble in oil line.

Only reason I am posting this is because I think it was user error. My oil consumption seemed low, and the amount of oil that I used every ride was little enough to make me think it was O.K. to start a ride with the oil level at the add mark. 5 miles into the ride the oil light came on. The seize happened 1 minute after a long climb, causing me to believe that the low oil in the resivoir flowed to the back side during the climb causing the air bubble. I want to warn everybody to keep your oil tank above the half mark.

Downtime was 12 days, dealer sold 50 of these sleds and mine was the only 1 with a engine failure. Dealer also said that whenever there is a trend of failures, the parts go on backorder. None of the parts needed for my repair were on backorder.

I'm a cat guy, and this is the first polaris since my Storm in 1996. I was worried when I picked the sled up after the repair, however after 2 rides, I am grinning ear to ear again.

1300 miles on my pro when i lost the motor.Pto side blew the skirt off the piston and the rest is history.Polaris sent a new motor to Alpine motorsports in 5 days.My buddys did the same thing at 500 miles.BEST SLED EVER.

210 miles '11 assault......noticed the "bubble" in the oil line 2x now. Not sure if the bubble is caused by the sled being rolled over, or angle of the line running into the tank, or the oil tank fitting itself.

Found the easiest fix was to lean the sled on it's right side and pinch the line, pushing the bubble back into the tank.

Also for insurance, running an 100:1 premix for peace of mind.

Otherwise, i was a cat guy for 8 years, 6 sleds in a row.................

new chapter.
