I've got a dirty engine/engine compartment . What is the best methods for cleaning this to an almost new shine. I've got a timbersled intake so I know I'll have to tape it up with some plastic. Anything else I'll have to protect and what kind of cleaner is best? Thanks again fellas.....

Are you guys spraying this stuff on and pressure washing it? or just scrubbing? I allways wanted to do this with some cleaner and use a pressure washer to rinse off but never know if Im going to hurt anything. I dont really see whats going to get hurt. What do you do step by step.

Simple Green, you can get a gallon of it at any autoparts store for like $9.00 and it lasts forever.....Might want to drill a drain hole in your bellypan too...I always wondered why none of my sleds have bellypan drain holes.....

:(:light:

i use degreaser from walmart.plug my intake and go to town with the presure washer.Blow everything dry with my air nozzel, then use electrical grease on connections. Then fire it up,and think about riding around my lawn.
thats pretty much a step by step

Yeah I kind of wondered why a regular motor degreaser wouldn't work. Same principle as auto cleaning.

I've been using simple green for years. Spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes and hose it off. If its really bad, I hit it with a sponge before hosing it. S-100 works good too.

Castrol SuperClean or Simple Green works well.

For real stubborn stuff, AC Delco brake and parts cleaner and some elbow grease.

WD-40 works awesome for stains on plastic.

Motorman, that's exactly what I do. You can pick up the de-greaser from Wally World for cheap. I usually use a couple cans, let it sit for a few minutes and pressure wash it off. Get's everything nice and squeeky clean!

I would recommend using a foam degreaser no matter what brand you decide to go with. Foam is nice because it clings to whatever you spray it on.
