Energy Food for all day Riding

This is the kind of grass roots efforts we should be adding to our land usage efforts. Let's get the word out. We won't buy or eat or wear products from companies that support greenie biased organizations! That goes for clothing companies too!

We should supporting companies within our industry that support our activities, like Klim, To Be, etc. The same goes for the food like companies mentioned above.

I wonder if someone can run through the list of outerwear and see which companies are greenie associated... possibly North Face, Helly Hansen, Marmot, and others that some of us wear that GIVE money to actually close down and take our RIGHTS to use the mountains. Oh ya, REI should be avoided like the plague as well. BIG greenie supporter!

FWIW :D

I've been really digging the Snickers Marathon Energy 28g protein bars latley ... a couple of those keeps me going all day long.

Some sort of a beef stick or summer sausage and cheese makes for a good refueling on short breaks. For lunch I like to have something in the hotpot. Burritos always are one of my favorites. Sometimes my wife will load up homemade breakfast burritos mmm mmm good.
And water water water.

We all have muff pots, we each carry something different then have a buffet. Shrimp scampi, chicken tenders, steak, BBQ beef, pork you name it we cook it. Plus the usual snacks-snickers, trail mix, kippers, water, beer and Schnapps and sometimes some crown

Oatmeal for breakfast and usually a sandwich, a few granola bars and water. Need something a little more too though cause I am wiped out by the time I hit home.

Don't buy Clif Bars, Power Bars, etc. Wilderness Athlete is the real deal. I spoke with a couple of their execs about a months ago to get the straight scoop and I was impressed with their replies. I ordered up a case of WA bars (Mountain Berry Granola) - WAAAAAY better than any others I have tried - plus they aren't land closing greenies. Give 'em a try.

BTW - I have absolutely NO affiliation with them what so ever - just traded emails with some of their guys. Their marketing guy used to be the ad director (or something like that...) for SnoTech too.

EDIT - found the old email....

Jeff, I can appreciate your concern regarding what type of
organizations we would sponsor. We are a new company who
does not posess the ability yet to support anyone other
than sending free product to our troops in Iraq and also
to various hunting clubs for fundraising. All the
pricipals in W.A. are avid outdoorsman who hunt, fish.
backpack and in general just love being outdoors. None of
us belong to any of the organizations mentioned and
,although I respect their right to exist, I believe their
motives are misguided and based on emotion rather than
sound science, which strange as it might seem, is what they
think about people like us.We will undoubtedly support
org. like Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (
even though their writers can get a little bit touchy
feely for me) and the like. We actually have a seperate
division to the company called Warfighter Fuel which takes
these quality products to the military. I am kind of
rambling here but suffice it to say we support sportsman
and would appreciate any help you can give us in getting
the word out to the masses.I hope we are your kind of
Company. I would be happy to answer any other questions
you may have about the direction of Wilderness
Athlete.Best Regards. Mark Paulsen. Founder- Wilderness

I couldn't agree more with ya on this one!! Thanks!!!

I miss being able to use my hotdogger... but we would do brats or lil-smokies
man nothing hits the spot like a hot meal outside...

I start my days while riding up, I'll drink at least 32oz of water on the drive.(short drive)
means I have to carry less, and my body will already start its hydration process..
if you start feeling thirsty, its generally too late.

GNC has full meal bars- Protien/ wehy / Carb's.....pleanty of the good stuff.
Different flavors very filling and especially good for you....
Fitness Water in the Hydo pack..( you wouldn't drink gatoraid if you knew how it was processed) No beer allowed in our group till we hit the parking lot..Drivers / no more than 2 partaking ....don't wanna ruin the drive home.

""Beer, Bananas, boiled eggs, peanut butter and alot of toilet paper makes for a interesting ride."""

And Winterbrew ain't riding in my truck home ...LOL

I usually carry Natural Valley granolla bars, gatorade or powerade, water, snickers, usually a roast beef or ham sandwich and beef jerky.

instead of snickers..try a reese's sticks..i think they actually taste better when frozen..and they are easy to eat frozen.....
