Enclosed Trailer Coupler Question...

I tow an 8.5x24 enclosed trailer. The trailer tongue and hitch I use are as pictured. I have a nice coupler lock but as you can see, all a thief would have to do is remove my coupler and the trailer is gone. My question is, since the truck hitch uses two pins to mount the ball, is there any reason I can’t remove the two bolts and use two locking pins to mount the coupler to the trailer? Thanks a lot.

I assume u mean lock the reciever to the truck. And yes, you can put locking pins in place of the pin/snap ring arrangement. I wouldn't spend a lot of time or money on it though, you are only keeping honest people honest. It only takes a cordless grinder and anyone can be in your trailer or hooked up to it.

Nylon locking nuts double with longer bolts or weld the nuts on bolts you have. Never gave a cordless grinder a thought but ya. The more time it looks like it would take is a deterrent cable through tire rims on trailer works also. I've been stormed in some pretty sketchy places don't leave home without a judge.
