Elko Nevada and the Rubies Mid May ???

I'd like to know also. Since the weather is going to be a little chilly this weekend I'd like to go on another ride or two. I'm not sure if they opened the road or not Tony. The mountains may be getting a little something, we haven't seen much precip in town, just wind.

Scott and Tony,

We're pretty sure that the state has opened it up to the bathrooms. He was told that by a couple of guys today. I make sure he calls the forrest service tomorrow, then let you know ASAP.

P.S Today at about 7:30 it was 40 Degrees in Elko so dont you think it would be colder in Lamoille? It usually drops as you go up in elavation.

I see the weather report sucks, but I have an urge to buy 200.00 worth of Diesel to make sure that 50.00 dollars worth of gas doesn't go to waste in my Sled. I wanna run out as I pull up on the truck.......................Yahooooooooooooooooo

See-ya all up at the turnaround

Nah, ever since he had his coming out party, I've been afraid.

I got here in time to take a drive up the canyon. It looks like the three record breaking hot days took their toll, but the tops are white. I't looks like the weekend that the elevation 3 crew was up at castle. There is about two - four inches of new. The road was cut to the turnaround, but there isn't much room to park. Hope it's half way nice in the morning.

I posted pics of the ride and scenery on Sierrasledders.com. If you aren't a member you will need to register to see the pics.

It was a short trip. We showed about 8:30 at the turnaround. There was lots of blue sky showing. It had all the makings of a kick butt day. Within 1/2 hour the clouds had rolled in and cast the "be afraid" light on all the slopes. We had a nice three hour tour with lots of stops. At about noon we headed back to the truck and then down to Lamoille for some lunch.
