Elk and Deer Hunters

How do you guys find the time and cash to do both? My sled addiction has really cut into my hunting!

stock sleds, do it yourself hunts and no kids. lol
it is kind of funny, but the only outfitted hunts i would want to do are sheep. Trying to find a decent price for stone sheep and boy is it spendy.

I'm now offering Trophy Gray and Red Squirrel hunts in the wilds of the MN Spruce Swamps and surronding areas. For an extra case of beer I will try and produce a black squirrel, but no guarantees.

I get paid to hunt! my dad runs CWMU's for deer and elk here in utah so i get paid to post, patrol, and spot for clients! And the buck killed in alberta, if thats 212, i need to find a new scoorer. I was guessin low 190 ish?? I look over deer all summer so its not like i don't know how to judge, i spend 4 days a week on the book cliffs scouting and guiding for deer on our cwmu so i look over tons of deer, my dads operation depends on my ability to judge deer. Maybe that picture just doesn't do it justice??? Got any other pics where it is back off the camera a little??? I will post a pic of a deer i guided last year for a guy. biggest deer i have been with to kill. It scored 207 and it is bigger than that....

Justadude,
However, looking at it closer the symmetry is off quite a bit. It is a non-typical specimen, which requires some serious height, width and girth to make it in. They would make multiple deductions from the scoring. I don't think it would quite make it in. Close though.

Yeah, to be up there with the cactus-head that do well in the non-typical category, I imagine that it needs to be huge to get in. For the typical bucks, I know it is mostly about symmetry. From what you are saying, it appears that a buck like this kind of falls through the cracks, so to speak.

The boys

Here is my boys! these where both taken in Colorado one with the muzzle loader the other with my bow. In The same area I have seen a buck that makes both of these look like fork horns. The first is a 6 x7 and is 32" wide and the other is a 7x4 and is 34" wide .

Those are killer polzin, I have killed two big boys in colorado the last two years my self. The one at the bottom of this post, and another one i will post pics later of, i got to go get them out of my truck and scan them which he scored 209 and his a 7 by 8. Thank goodness for landowner tags!!

K i went down stairs and took pictures of the deer me and my dad took the last couple years to settle this whole score argument

Here is a Boone and Croocket typical. He scored 198 net officially. If you look at him from his mass to his tine's every messurement has hardly any deductions, only 27 and a half wide but his tines are killer like you will see in the picture. My dad shoot him in utah in 2006 (1st and 2nd picture)

2nd deer (3rd picture) is a 26 " but as you can see his main beam is longer on one side as well has a tine, this deer only scored 169. I shoot him in 2006 in utah

3rd deer is a 34 7/8. Huge main frame, but as you can see he hit his horn on velvet right after the front fork on the one side. This caused it to stunt and almost just mushroom up into a 3 inch ball. This deer has excelent other side and if both sides matched would be pusing 199*that is if other side matched exact* I shoot him in colorado in 2007 on the 3rd rifle season near gunnison. (Last picture, the one of the deer live in the sage) You can't really tell in the pic but his forks on his right side are great, and his right front has unreal length. Huge Main Beam score, inside score, and outside score with width like that

This shoes you tine lenth and symetry is everything in a BC typical. Rasp112's buck is incredible but i can't see it go 212 with its tine lenth, and not much cheater length to make up for it Gross

Like i said.. We scored it ourselves.. I dont conseider myself an official B&C scored so i could be a little off.. But i promise you its not a 190 class buck.. We have been hunting for years for a 200 class buck and seen and shot many 190 class in the past.. And i agree where this deers downfall is is its length in tines.. But its gurth by far exceeds any buck ive ever seen which makes up those points.. 212 maybe not.. thats what we came up with.. B&C i could pretty much bet its at least a 200 class buck..

Ya gotta love Colorado! like i said there is a buck out there that is the largest deer I have ever seen in the flesh .He is 40" at least and really tall the first time I saw that one was At over 400 yards and it was obvious that he was massive one look through the spotting scope and a dribble of pee ran down my leg.

Never scored but a decent Idaho whitetail

oldpics2130.jpg

And a decent Idaho bull 379 6/8's with only 3 1/8" in deductions.

thanks alot guys i just picked my buck up from the taxidermist last week and it looks like a spick compared to your pics. I knew i shouldn't had mounted but all my friends said you got have it mounted. it green scored 150 which is't bad for central mn. next time 170 our up

folks i said we scored it ourselves calm the freak down.. What we've scored 1 maybe 2.. we didnt score it B&C official cause we dont care.. Its probably closer to a 200 point buck.. I just stated that number cause thats what WE came up with.. I never said it was an official score. geeeeeeez people
