Last weekend we went riding and took along a EGO 16" battery operated chainsaw (uses a hefty 280 watt-hr 56V battery). So nice and easy to use, just pull out of bag, press trigger and cut. I cleared about 10 trees on the trails with more than 30 cuts and the battery was still going strong. 5" to 12" diameter. The temps ranged from about 5 degrees F to 20 degrees F.
I have an extra battery but didn't carry it and not really sure I need to unless there has been a major storm. I met a guy with a 2 stroke saw and he was a bit jelly of my instant start/cut 15 seconds after hopping off sled.
