you said you had water in the carb bowls. hitting a big bump like that will stir things up. clean carbs, drain tank, and new plugs and it should run fine. After you replace oring in head of course.

well we never did get more snow so the sled has been sitting. i eventually did replace the orings on my head and cleaned the carbs but it wont rev over 4-5k rpm and wont move under its own power. any ideas guys? seems to idle very well.

Could be an electrical issue.
1. Coolant temperature sensor on top of engine
2. CDI box
3. Hi/lo beam switch
4. Stator
5. Coil

If you have a friend with the same engine that works, you could switch out parts one at a time until you find the one that makes yours run right.

A crank bearing going out will limit the engines ability to rev up. When the bearing starts to disentigrate, the engine will throw little bits of metal around until all bearings, rings and pistons are toast. You better have the crank examined by an expert pronto. If the engine has over 3000 miles, then the crank bearings can go at any time. Especially the PTO end bearing. Broken front engine mounts will cause an engine with bad crank bearings, to bog down and quit when you hit a bump in the trail.
