Ebay/Paypal sled parts rant!

This is totally amazing. I sold a set of shocks in February. The guy claims they are only 14 inches and returns them and I get a dispute/backcharge from paypal…
So I get the shocks back in a box with no packing that is partially ripped apart. Remove my nicely damaged shocks and place them on a tape measure and take pictures wouldn’t ya know it 16”……

So I send paypal an appeal letter fax the pics and wait….and wait…. Meanwhile unbeknownst to me they have frozen my account…But yet I can still go through all the motions like its normal

So I talk to idiot 1 about 20 days ago and upload the pics to the account today since they cant see them when there are hard copies in their hand.

Brandon your money is coming now that I have a "new" spare paypal acct

So today I call them and ask whats up and they tell me that I don’t have substantial proof for an appeal….INSERT WTF SMILEY….

So I explain that unless the shocks grew I obviously have a case. And I am told that they need to provide an avenue for buyers to return items…So they can change their mind and lie.

So now I have eaten 20$ in shipping to get broken 16” Fox shocks back that I cant do anything with. And they locked my account and are attempting now (today almost 3 months later) to back charge me the amount for the shocks. Meanwhile this is why every thing I sent payment for said pending and never did anything.

How the heck is this fair? I ask them how it can possibly not be disputable? He tells me that the only way I could dispute is if I hadn’t received them back. I then go on to explain that this is the 3rd time this BS has been pulled in my last 30 sales and that no emails are received and no calls are made I just keep getting a run around. He had the balls to ask me how often I think an incident like this really happens.

I said don’t you think once is more than enough. Then I told him I think its crap that paypal is the only accepted method of payment on ebay and that I am now getting screwed out of the listing and final value fees as well. He said is there anything else he could do for me and I said yes…Provide better service…

Total crap….Anyone want some mangled fox racing shocks with arctic cat green coil springs that are all dinged to chit.

I have the buyers email anyone wanna have fun :D

That sucks man, Pay pal screwed me out of $450 a few years ago. I had payed for a few items through Paypal and the guy took my money and ran. Paypal got me back $25 and closed the case file. Real nice company to deal with.
Why couldn't they at least release his IP number or acount number to the police and have him arrested or let me deal with him? :face-icon-small-con

Paypal sucks, too bad they are screwing you.

I got screwed just the same by PayPal. Some guy bought a jug from me and returned it. I didn't even get a call from PayPal, just an email saying that the buyer was not happy and disputed the purchase. PayPal took the money from my account before I even got the part back. To make matters worse, I had just processed a rebate through PayPal, so they took all of that too!

just one of the many reasons i quit using ebay. just too much of a hassle, if your selling they won't send payment and if your buying the won't send your stuff. when i buy on there now i only will buy if they are an actuall store that has the thing i want in stock and will take my credit card over the phone...

Wow sounds rough!
Sorry to hear about all the bull$hit going on for everyone who posted.
I thought it was bogus that they made paypal the only avenue of payment also, just one more way to squueeze more money out of you.
I have been doing buisness in the sled parts section for a few years now and have had only a few problems with buyers and sellers but have always been able to work out the problems between us both by e-mail or on the phone.
I hope I never have your kind of experience but its probably just a matter of time.
I have 3 doo 800 cranks for sale on there now,if you buy from me or I buy from you be certain that I will never screw anyone.
The old "do unto others" thing ,eh?

ebay

I have had some problems with paypal and the sellers but i have been lucky on a few. I do have a open case on 1 item now that i got from a store on ebay and it dont work i tried to call the place left a message and no returned call so i made a case see what happens with it.

Sorry to hear about your issue with the shocks

I nearly got screwed out of a $1000 on a pay pal deal - bought a laptop and it arrived DOA. PayPal was wasn't going to do anything for me but then on a whim I called AMEX, they charged back pay pal whith in a week. When Paypal doesn't stand up to their end of the deal AMEX will always get you the credit. Too bad it doesn't work when you are selling something.

I sell a lot on ebay, and have had nothing but problems since ebay changed their feedback policy. Now that you can only leave positive feedback for a buyer, the buyers have you over a barrel. I have had more non payed items over this winter then in the previous 3 years on ebay. I think it is fine for ebay to want to protect buyers but there is NO protection for sellers at all. You can do everything right and still get screwed. I am to the point now where I wont except returns at all. Its sad for someone that may have made a honest mistake and bought the wrong thing but I am tired of being screwed. I sold a pair of board traction plates early this year, I instantly received a email from the buyer stating that the part was not what he was expecting and would i refund his money in he returned the item. Yes I say I will refund the money upon return of the item. I hear nothing for a week and then the buyer leaves me a positive feedback. I never see the item return. Then, 3 1/2 months later the item shows up on my front porch. I can tell they have been installed and used all winter and now he returns them for a refund. Needless to say I am not refunding his money.

what a effin pos! I hate dishonest people!

Don't ever buy an Ipod on ebay. We bought one as NEW. It had been rebuilt, not new. It broke after a month, had it replaced. That one broke after a couple months, and the seller had closed up, or probably just changed their name. Paypal wouldn't do anything because it had been 3 months since the original purchase. Although they were sposed to have a year warranty. Why I don't buy anything expensive from there, just small stuff.
