Eat and Drink while riding

There are lots of posts about "whats in your pack" and "loosing weight for riding" or fitness plans/ideas/routines. So you get yourself in decent physical shape, you pack the right equipment and you have spent the right amount of money to make your sled as light and functional as you can afford right now but I'm curious what others take with them to eat and drink while riding.

Whats the ultimate "high energy" food to take with you while riding? There are tons of different "snack" foods available. Foods that you can eat cold and others that you can heat in your cooker. I pack trail mix, snickers bar and often cheese, summer sausage and crackers. I read about others pack beef jerky. So, whats in your pack---to eat? :face-icon-small-hap

What about keeping hydrated. Water obviously is great but what about gatorade or other? I'm sure some will mention beer or other forms of alcohol but we all know that it will not hydrate you! I usually pack water and often a gatorade. I see energy drinks, coffee, and well, lots of beer. So, again, whats in your pack--to drink?:face-icon-small-coo

I like to make a bunch of elk burritos and freeze them.2 burritos fit perfect in the muff pot.also jerky and of course lots of water and and a few beers.i have also cooked mountain house on the mountain before the muff pot came out.

Gatorade and Jerky. Every time, unless I've got pizza rolls to throw into the cooker'!

Usually water, granola bars, maybe a sandwich and other snacks. Typically pack pretty light food wise but usually end up slightly regretting it towards the end of a long day. But my new sled has a Muff Pot on it so I am looking forward to utilizing that this year.

My Fav is Cheesy Dogs in the muffpot

lots of H2O, I get cramped up if i don't guzzle lots of h20, beef Jerky is always on board. the kirkland Steak strips from Costco rock, peanuts and raisins are high energy snacks. warm you up also

on my person when sledding its usually a sammich, maybe small bag of chips, large bottle of water , and a few beers. i wont drink caffeinated beverages before or during riding cuz it just kicks my trash, but i usually have an energy drink or soda waiting at the truck for a little pick me up on the drive home.

If you cramp easy you should get some electrolytes. I bring along beef jerky (good protein) a couple bottles of water and I mix in some cytomax into one of the bottles. Cytomax has electrolytes, amino acid and some good carbs, not just sugar like gatorade. I treat snowmobiling like endurance training and you have to stay fueled.

bagel sandwich (dosen't crush and fills ya up), water, chips, energy bars, crackers and packets of honey.

Protein Bars, Vitamin/Protein Shake(ensure), gatorade, apple/grape juice, jerky, granola bar, and fireball candies.

Beer? while riding?? Humm....not sure thats a good idea. Maybe better to save the beer till AFTER the riding is done . . .??? :)

Each to his own i guess.

Cheers!

I bring lots water for hydration. If you eat a well balanced diet in general, all that gatorade, energy drink, mio stuff is just crap. I used to drink all kinds of stuff, but now I basically drink water and my morning coffee just in general. Well, and booze....I might bring a beer or 3 if it's a mello kinda ride, but not all the time.

I really like toasted sandwhiches in the muff pot and pretty much always bring a couple pre-wrapped in tin foil. Maybe a piece of fruit and a granola bar or something handy. Mars or snickers bar if I feel like some sugar.

hot pocket, energy bars, energy gel, powerade, choc milk. Bottle of water.

Hamburger or cheese sandwich in the hotdogger, a chocolate bar or two, water or a energy drink.
But also a mix that I used in the infantry witch we called "coma mix": Peanuts, cashew nuts, almonds and dark chocolate in a bag, so you could grab a fist or two during the day, this gives you a boos when you're stuck for the x't time...

Truth be told, I prefer to stop and get something to eat or drink. I find it very difficult to dig into the tunnel bag or Muff Pot while still riding.:face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-ton

Buffalo wings for this guy, just get the precooked breaded ones.. Pizza rolls go good also. Vitamin water to drink lately. The burritos in the Muff pot sounds like a good idea also.
