I have an 04 rev adrenaline 800 159". What do you think are necessary things that i can do to this sled (within about $1,000) to make it handle and perform way better? I am thinking about upgrading the shocks to fox float II's. Any imput on that would be great. Also, it has the rail extensions for the 159. I am only 6ft and 165lbs with gear, should i think about goin back to a 144? Anything here is gonna help!

Thanks in advance!

Shocks....clutching and gearing for the type of riding you do. Anything to drop weight is always good...silencer and seat are the big weight losses on that sled.

Clutching & gearing for sure...there's a chance that when that was extended, the gearing wasn't changed...where do you ride, flatland or mountains? Is this an x or adrenaline? 2"track or 2.25? Aside from the track, what does this sled have that's not stock?

After owning a set of float 2's I will say, that was the biggest waste if money! There was no single setting that worked well for both on and off trail...and I even had them re valved.
I would recommend factory kyb's. I agree with the can and seat, but with a seat being 1/2 your budget, I wouldn't recommend it for you. A 2.25" track it's a huge improvement as well. I would not see any reason to go back to a 144.

So, I would clutch & gear it, can, x shocks for sure. The rest would depend on your riding.
What's the millage on the sled as well? May wanna do a top end everything
So let us know those let things to better help you. I've got parts available to doo each and every thing listed too in both new and good used, do I can definitely get you a louth of bang for your buck!

My #'s in my signature if you wanna get ahold of me through phone or text

Just a few I can think of now.

Good Luck, Wildcard

Thanks guys! It is an Adrenaline so it has the base shocks that have probably seen their better days. has 2000 miles, i had the top end rebuilt at 1300. just had ski doo dealer do quick inspection of the bottom and said that was good to go. I have venting on both clutch and exhaust sides. It already has a skinz super q silencer on it (love the sound of this thing!!!!) Do not know of any gearing that has been done to it.

I do ride flatland some but prefer to ride the hills and further west. So what would be the prefered gearing for that?

As far as clutching, its stock and probably needs to be cleaned. What do you prefer for upgrades on clutching? Do I do just the primary or secondary or do i do both?

Skis I am hoping to upgrade sometime this summer or fall to the 8" slydog powderhounds. They are made in my hometown, so why not support my local economy right!

Right now it has a 3 in riser but the cables are about maxed out. I would like to get a pivot on there to get it to about a 5 in rise but i dont know if i want to extend the cables.

The track on it is a 159 x 16 x 2.25 camoplast. So I dont think that I need to change that. My only thought is that if i went to the 144, I might be able to handle the sled a little easier to throw around.

Thanks again for all your imput!

Move the steering post ahead. It doesnt cost anything and then you wont need a pivot risor. The bars come up and forward. I really liked the change it made in riding my 04.

Once you take the sway bar out you won't want it back in. You can lift the front of the sled up a few feet and work it out if you really want to save it. I just grinded mine off and never looked back.

on all kinds of differant threads for these rev sleds everybody says to stiffen up front shocks and throw the sway bar away and 2 weeks ago we did that to my friends 04 rev and i was able to ride it on 1 ski (flat area) for easy 200 yards turned around and did it on other side last sat, couldn't do the same with my 04 rev only differance besides 159 track opposed to his 151 and his simmons skis have spacer on outside mine are on inside but will know for shure tomarrow (fri as going to greenwater and sidehill it and see for myself on my sled) but i have found it a bit hard to side hill in the past with sway bar on so stay tuned for a reply after tomarrow.

After sidehilling yesterday without that swaybar just that alone is one of the best improvments you can make stiffen up front shocks (which mine already were) and cut that thing off and throw it away mine is an 04 rev 159 track simmons skis with spacer on inside , i could take the spacer and put it on outside if i wanted like my friend has his but i sidehilled like it should have all along on the bigstuff and it felt great.:face-icon-small-hap
