dropped the sled in the river today...

Good thing it was only 3 feet deep! The whole sled started to drop in but i punched it and leaned back and popped the skis out...needless to say i fell in...
i was on top of a snow drift on the edge of the Red Lake River in MN, which is extremely slow moving, and usually has 3-4 ft of ice everywhere by this time of year. im guessing the extra snow on top of the ice had something to do with it..
any thoughts?

that must of been hard to get out thanks for pics

yea it was alot of fun...the worst part is i was by myself and completely soaked. called a buddy and "chilled out" for an hour before he got there

good luck drying that seat out. last time is seen a sled in the river was in the mississippi. just when you think the seat was dry, leave it outside for a night & instant brick!

Last time I went riding I crossed a meadow and , luckily, saw where someone had your same your same poor luck. Went to turn around and saw another hole. Left the meadow. Looks like a whole lot of no fun...

SOMETIMES THOSE SLEDS WANT TO FALL SIDEWAYS/backwards IN THOSE SITUATIONS...pinning ya under them..glad it didn;t on you...

Been there, done that! Used to live on the St Lawrence River and seemed someone was always going for a swim early in the season. We became proficient at recovery and clean up. Always shallow water creeks. Never a death in our group.

The seat! take it to a commercial laundy that has a huge centrifigal dryer. They can spin ALL the water out. Glad you were ok. That is a long hour wet!

it could be worse!lol not mine in pic!

We were riding turnagain pass one time..5-6 ft of fresh snow and as we are breaking trail down the powerline we cross a creek that is about 6-8 ft deep(cant even tell cause the snow is pretty much level) I am last in line and the guy in front of me just disapears..I stop and sure enough he went over into the creek sideways..him on his back into the water(about 12-16 inches deep) sled upside down on top of him and wedged in length wise..I jumped down in and lifted the back of the sled up..luckily his head was out of water and the sled didnt have him pinned...took all 8 of us to get the sled out....If I would have been even 10 ft farther behind him I would have missed him ..he got very lucky...
