I have an 02 edge with the button secondary is there a major benefit to switching to the team roller secondary? Will a well set up button perform as well as a equally set up roller. I willbe ordering SLP's full kit for either one when I decide. Other than SLP are there any other good clutch parts to take a look at. I ride from 3000'-7000'.

TEAM ROLLER vs. Button

I had an 2002 EDGE-X 800 with a some bolt-on mods, SLP heads, V-Force, Holtzman ATAAC, stock pipe

Switched from the button to the TEAM roller and the back-shifting was smoother, however it was slower on Top End

If you're going to change the secondary, go with the P-2, or leave the button in, I.M.O.

If you are going to spend money on a new team secondary for your 02 it's worth your time to look at the reverse kits for sale on E-Bay. The kits come with most of the parts you need to install reverse and include a new Team clutch as part of the deal. I did this on my 02 800 RMK and was very happy with the results.

I'm with the other guys... if you aren't going with reverse then don't go with a TEAM... unless you want more belt heat and less topend. ;)

Rebuild the button, put in a set of hard buttons and get a good helix/spring combo and you'll be good to go.

Carl's Cycle has a great clutching setup for the 800s.

X3 on the team roller. I installed one on my pro-x 600 and lost top end and lost fuel economy. But I did get smoother backshifting like the others have mentioned. My old secondary was wore out and I thought the team setup was supposed to be better. Might be with some more fudging around.
