Dragon eating belts, looking for opinions

Check your mounting straps on the bottom of the motor! From the top everything looks good but when I started eating belts the PTO side strap was broke in half! Have seen two more since then! If you check with your dealer, you'll learn that this part number sees allot of activity! Again.... from the top side everything looks and feels fine. If you grab the motor everything seems to be tight and no movement! Pull the motor out, strap is in two pieces??

All gauges vary, but at only 2200' elevation, those readings sounds a little low, I.M.H.O.

If this test is with the 2010 update head, then these readings would be about right on. The MY 2010 and 2010 Update head usually shows 115-120 lbs. of comprression at 300 ft above sea level with a $350 Snap-On Compression tester.

As for the belt blowing symptom....Thanks Vinnee, I forgot about that issue. There's an 09 in my garage right now with this problem.

fwiw, i'm at ~4,500' w/ '08 800 and have the 2010 updated head with fix kit. my comp values after my first tank are at 104/103 at roughly 50* ambient air, whether the engine is hot or cold with throttle held open.

at 11,000' the '09 rmk 600 i've been seeing 83/81 on a factory setup. back at 4,500' i was seeing similar results closer to 110.

For you guys breaking the engine mounting straps, take a look at FTX's engine mount plate for the IQs. I bought one for my build last summer. I don't have a pic of it w/o the engine, but here's a few of it bolted to my engine:

Also, if you do go this route, you'll need to buy some longer bolts for the PTO side as the stock ones are too short. Mag side bolts are fine.
