Dragon airbox

Has anyone takin there airbox out and sealed it with silicon? look like a b!tch to get out but might be worth it with all the gaps ive seen on mine and also the the pad that goes around your airhorn to seal the airbox when the hood is down, you can see its not even a perfect seal probley half inch or more off. WTF
Thanks

Chris

Long phillips screw driver makes it easy, when reinstalling it make sure the rubber strap is tied up so it doesn't end up behind the box once it's sitting in place.

I split my 09 airbox in half and gorilla glued it together...then put a strip of gorilla tape around the seam...

i also had the headlight adjuster covered and my airbox was spic and span all last season and i never saw any snow in there whatsoever.

very important to cover the headlight adjuster.

As a required mod to run the SLP 777 kit, I had to use a heat gun to put a "dent" in the middle of my air box to facilitate the new position of the T-stat housing. While doing so, I got it hot enough to melt the forward seam together and then duct taped the very top part.

It dont matter how good the seam is sealed it still a such a shatty design still wont seal at the TB's no matter what you do with the factory design i just started a thread about this yesterday.

I might try glueing the peice that stays on the TB's onto the airbox it will be a pita to get back on but its cheaper then replaceing the engine

the airbox is real easy to pull out, I duct taped the seam around mine, seals fine.

I also taped up the stupid headlight adjuster knob, and silicone'd the holes where my windshield used to be. Some guys like to silicone all around the headlight too but there's already foam behind there and I think it's a good source of air when it's not plugged with snow, so I left mine open.
