don't go to green water if you cant handle it!

Greenwater

So far so good on the plowing. I hope they continue the good job that they are doing. On our pull to ravens roost yesturday, it was untouched all the way to the top. When we went to go back down, the groomer had just been there. How lucky we were to have rode to the top in the fluffy stuff.

he is doing a great job grooming, and plowing as far as I am concerned, I talked to the groomer and told him about the rock I hit in the gravel pit and he was going to tell the plow driver. there were people camping there so they used the rock as there fire place

I do not think plowing or grooming has ever been the issue with Greenwater--It has just been the road --the "Matterhorn".

We almost went over the edge on the Matterhorn up on top headed out about 10 years ago--road was plowed fine, just slicker than a bugger!!

They could also use more snow park on just a average ride day.

more room

It is what it is for room at g.w.it takes money to build the parking area and get land donated ,it just dosen't happen over night, its amazing the amount of people that ***** about the road, that was the forrest service that designed it, i do know that as i worked up there for 19 years, as far as the road if people would use chains and work with each other and use their head its not a big problem, sorry for the rant but tired of reading all the *****es about the road and grooming. its not burger king you dont always get it your way.:face-icon-small-hap

This rant = DUHR!!!

I just was stating most peoples piss and moans. And no kidding it costs more money--Just ask the NWGC club---they added on to a snowpark at their expense last year up at Baker--If the clubs would be more involved it can happen--We have even been allowed to trim the tree branchs back above the road that you ride in on to allow more snow build on the road.

So now I got part of my rant back.

What one cost more?

They could have just fixed the old road after the river washed it out years ago! But no, they had to build the new road. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that people are gonna have trouble on a steep grade, in the winter, trying to get their motorhomes or trucks with campers and trailers to the snow park. Kinda simple to me, fix the old road and cut out a few miles of new road up and around the washout. I might not have all of the facts, if someone can explain why the new road is better I would love to hear it. -00's

To me there is alot more parking there than at gold creek

GC use to have plenty of parking when everyone was over at Posers Pass.

We used to pull in there and NO ONE was there and maybe 2 or 3 rigs at the end of the day--All you newbies screwed GC up for us old timers:mad:.;)

I liked the old road much better as well!!

its called environmentalists, they got there way, probably something about rerouting the river would be bad, they had to use an exhisting road so it is what it is and it won't change. I kinda like it. puts some exitement back into driving to go sledding:beer;

reason forrest service went up over the hill was to get away from the river, that was the third time that the road had washed out, we had built a shorter bypass as plum cr and werehauser donated the land but forrest service didnt approve so it went were it is , the other road was alittle shorter and not as steep, just need to widen out and paved.oh yyeah its not better.
