Don't deal with Dblock

My side of the story.

I listed a Pro X pipe and can for sale in swapmeet. Darrin (Dblock) said he was interested, asked for pics. I sent him some. We agreed on a price ($100 shipped). I shipped it without receiving payment because I'm the trusting type. It cost me $42 to ship it and half an hour of my time in line at the post office. Darrin received the pipe and can, I still hadn't received payment so I emailed him asking where the check was. He claims to have sent it but I never got it.

He says he's going to cancel the check and mail the pipe and can back because he found something else. So now I've lost $42 to his whim and MIGHT be getting my exhaust back...I hope he doesn't mail it the same way as his check I never got.

This isn't as bad as some of the bad deals others have gone through but I definitely won't send a part until I have cash in hand from now on.

Sorry to hear that. Used to be where one could trust folks on here. I know I've sent stuff out before payment, or had things sent to me.

With all I've been reading lately though, unless I know the person or have dealt with them before, I won't be doing that again.

^^^^Typically if you're shipping stuff then you wouldn't be close enough to go to his house and ask for your money...........

Stuff like this really pi$$es me off becuz it sours all the other buyers on these type of deals and then people want their money up front before sending the merchandise since the seller has to show good faith that the product is what the buyer is purchasing. It still should be "send the product before the money" for used items. For brand new stuff from a reputable company, you pay first then the product is sent. Its too bad there are still people out there like that that ruin it for the rest of us.

Sorry to hear that bud. Its a shame our community(snowmachiner's) should have to put up with this type of crap. I just dont understand how people can do this and not feel bad about it. Dblock, nut up and give the man his money and pipe back. It takes a coward to hide behind a screen name but a man to come out and confess his mistakes.

Even if he DID mail the cheque, that's a dick move to decide he doesn't want your stuff anymore and send it back...and for you to be out shipping money on top of that is BS! I'm not looking forward to my first bad transaction...I've been lucky so far but there's been too many of these types of posts in the last little while.

That totally sucks. It would be nice to see some kind of effective rating system or flat out banning of these douche bags. The only issue I've had on here is some shipping damage caused by poor packing, the guy took care of me though.

What bothers me the most is I felt like I was giving him a good deal to begin with, trusted him to send the money even after I sent the product...and then he screwed me.

I don't care about $40, I've given away used parts to forum members just because they were taking up space, even paid the shipping myself, it's sad to see the forum go downhill like this.

It sounds like you gave him a very fair deal on the pipe and can. It doesn't matter how much space it's taking up in your garage......you gave him a good deal and then went above and beyond to trust him and send him the goods before you had cash in hand. To not follow up and pay....then stiff you for the shipping was a pretty dickhead move on his part. I'd say it's time for him to nut up and do something on his behalf to make it good with you. You bent over to help him out, and all he did was spin you around and stick it to you in the a$$.

I made my first Snowest transaction on a crankshaft shortly after I joined in 2001. Through the years I've bought and sold alot of stuff on here and never once had a deal go bad. With every good sale, you expect the next one will be just as smooth. At the same time you hear about all the other guys getting screwed and wonder if maybe I'm making myself too vulnerable to get taken in the shorts. Chances are it will happen sooner or later, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Darrin (Dblock) told me he would ship my exhaust back nov 27th, and I should see it by dec 3rd. Still no exhaust.

I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not, I'm not looking to insult him so much as protect others on this forum. I would like get my exhaust back as well, not that I need it, but I don't like the idea of him getting it for free.
