i have a 9 month old springer and for the life of me i can't get her to retrieve. i throw the dummy and runs it down and won't pick it up, and runs back to me with out. i go to the dummy with her and open her mouthand pick it up but she won't do it on her own. the dummy i have is a dokkens ruffed grouse so not to big. need help hunting seson is almost here.

Try tying some real bird wings on your dummy, this worked on my Lab. Trainer says somtimes dogs don't like the feel of some of the dummies available. I also took my dogs all the way thru puppy kindergarten up to advanced retrieval training, would recomend highly for all puppy owners. Good Luck.
