Dog Anxiety

Son of a B we had crap again last night. Dog starts to whine I take him out and he pees and goes to the door. Put him back in the cage and he whines for his usual 5 minutes or so....then a few more minutes so I get up and he shat again:mad:

It's puppy anixety, gonna go away eventually, best trick now is, yes - put the cage in your bedroom, do this on the weekend, since the first night might be restless and leave the door open, shut if he does not sleep in the cage. If you don't want him to fuss the rest of his life, DON'T let him up on the bed unless you want him to sleep there.

Don't feed late at night, no later than 5-6pm.

Make sure you take him out in plenty of time before you sleep so he has time to crap, if you dont see him do it, he will later (He's a puppy remember).

Best of luck.

thanks slim I think we will try the bedroom tonight. He started life in there but got moved after a couple weeks. We didn't want him to think he should always sleep in there, but if this will get the crapping to stop I'm on board...now for the wife.

If he's anything like our female,,,,,you'll need lots of patience. It was well over a year before she didn't need a poop or pee run at any given time of the day or night. It was a lot of work but we survived.
With the energy level she had, there's no way we could have kenneled her at night. Unless she had a few hours of hunting to tucker her out. And it took all of that to wear her down too. Man, she loves to hunt.
When I take her out I have to put a bell on her collar. Our grove is very dense, and when she quits signaling, she can sneak around so quietly you'll never know where the fook she is.
When she's in the house she has to be close to her people. When she's outside she doesn't give a crap what the other dogs or her people are doing, she has her nose to the ground looking for rabbit.
Wife aint real happy about sharing the bed with the little chit. Given a choice between her or the rabbit hound, I hope she likes the couch. My little pal aint going nowhere. :D
Careful with the treats. They quickly end up looking like a watermelon with legs.
Hope you got lucky and found one that will instinctively circle the rabbits to you. It's funnier than chit when they sneak around trying to avoid the dog and end up rite at your feet, and with a look of OH CHIT on their face.

Good luck, it aint going to be easy.

I let my dog sleep on the bed, but he usually only jumps up there when it's real cold out.

If I sleep past 10 he'll jump up and start licking anything that moves...
