DOES YOUR XP track rub on the right side

I have an xp 154 x model and the track from the very first day was rubbing. so I talked to my dealer and they said this is the first one they have heard of and to watch it and let them know if it gets worse. so I rode it twice and saw that the bumper bolts where to long causing the track to hit the bolts and start to cut the track. I took it back to a dealer and they told me that they have an update for that problem.I want brp to replace the track beacuse it was a factory defect and when I go to resale the sled I am going to have too take off $ for the track issue. Brp tells me it is only cosmetic and they wont replace the track..I wouldnt buy a new sled with scratches and I dont think I / XP OWNERS SHOULD TAKE THE HIT FOR BAD DESIGN FROM BRP ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY HAVE A PART FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM THAT IS AN ADMISSION OF FAULT. I AM JUST HOPING THAT WE COULD ALL PULL TOGETHER TO HAVE BRP SWAP OUT THE TRACK .please reply if your track rubs..thanks

Mine is on right side too. Do you sidehill on left side mostly which could be pushing this track to the right? and did you install the tunnel stiffeners with those long rivits?

I have a 163 xp and had the same isue the first couple of rides so I replaced the factory bumper bolts with some button head bolts from tacoma screw but I was noticing that didn't completely resolve the issue. I am wondering what else the track is rubbing on because my track is also showing signs of wear and chunks missing wtf??????????????

free-play

The track is not "pinched" to be only as wide as the drivers need. Therefor the track is free to move from side-to-side. It's not a problem. You can pinch every cleat and hold the track tight but not necessary.

Mine rubs on both sides sometimes, don't really care though because it is just a little cosmetic stuff and if that is all the damage that occurs to my sled by the end of the season I will thank my lucky stars! I am just letting you know that mine does rub also. At least we are not having problems like the NYTRO where the lugs are laying down, now that would suck!

keep them comming guys I need all the people with the problem to let us know so I can show the dealer and brp that it is not just me with this problem. This is just an aid to help all of us guys that tracks rub that bothers us to get it replaced it is more than a cosmetic thing to me. we need the dealer to log in these problems so they can fix it you might want to tell your dealer. I am dealing with i 90. also think about when you go to sell it whats the buyer going to think I allreday had a guy pass on it just beacuse of this..
Thanks again.........

post pics of your track so we can let you know if ours looks the same.

yes i have track rubbing as well only on right side, and have no clue what bolts or rivets are causing this, and no i do not have tunnel stiffners, and i do side hill on both sides of the machine lots, pm for pictures if needed... this should be fixed by BRP

ya my right side paddles are chewed to hell. my dealer took pics of it to try and get it replaced for me this summer. no stiffeners and side hill both ways. left side looks fine.

i believe it is the rivets that hold the drop brackets, didn't really investigate too thoroughly tho don't really care enough

yes, my track has tuffs of threads comming off both sides...the problem I think is the upper bracket on the rear skid...the clearence is very narrow and the edge of it is VERY sharp....

my 163 isn't that bad. Your sled is a 154 isn't it? I'm curious if the 154's are worse??????????

^^^ holly crap that looks bad, BRP better replace that

mine has very small notches on most of the lugs on the right side....hard to tell what screw/nut/whatever is hitting it

i have the 163 if that helps

The first pic is of the left side ,no problems there. pic 2 and 3 are from the right side I think that the track is rubbing on the drop bracket and rear bumper bolt They are talking with doo to see if they can fix it and swap out the track. also note the strings from the track thats not a big deal to me but the chunks that are missing are.. Just fyi My g/f rides this sled she is 120# so no it,s not cuz a big guy it bottoming out the susp on it..

You need to adjust the track tension bolt in on the right side to push the track over to the left side more. You can see it is over to the right side more than it should be in you # 2 pic.

Thats what the dealer thought too. They charged me to alighn the track and guess what it still rubs just like it has since day one. They are putting in a new update kit( the right size bolts) from ski doo . AFTER GETTING ALL THE UPDATES DONE FROM DOO I THINK WE ADDED 20# LOL... I think the drop bracket is not located in a good spot and thats why it rubs imo... thanks.
