Does your dealer contact you about safety bulletins?

There has been 3 pretty big bulletins on the M1100T. Two are a serious safety concern and one is a operating concern. The first two are the steering linkage and fuel filter, which can make you lose control of your sled and your sled might catch fire. The third is the reverse.

I am wondering if I am out of line to expect my dealer to contact me about these. Cat says they mail letters, but I have never got one and by the time a letter might arrive, my drive gears could be trashed (actually they are trashed because I didn't get the bulletin), my sled burned, or I could be wrapped around aa tree from loss of control due to steering failure.

My dealer doesn't even know about the bulletins. I might be out of line, but dammit, when safety is at stake, whether it be a serious injury or worse, I would expect my dealer to contact me.

Is it a dealers responisibility to contact customers who they sold sleds to to inform them about potential safety issues? Just curious.

BTW, my sled is fixed. Darren at Mid Valley AC in Star Valley rocks. Up to date on everything, kits ordered, upgrades done, bulletin issues checked. I didn't buy my sled from him, but I will next time.

I recieved letters from AC, never heard a word from the dealer I bought my sled from.

I received letters from AC, letters from from the dealer and phone call from dealer service dept I bought my sled from.

I receive a direct call fro my dealer and about 2-5 day's later I get a letter from cat
Cannot beat that / but honestly, whis we had no recalls/ bulletins at all.

My Dealer never called and when i CALLED them. My good friend that i thought was a good service manger said that he saw something about the fuel filter thing but wasnt concerned. Then i told him what the bullitin was about and why and sudenly he acted concerned. Turnes out he never called any of the five turbo owners that bought his sleds.:nono: I know this because i ride with them all. Oh yeah never got a letter for any of the three. but i got my servey :face-icon-small-fro

I received a letter from AC for the steering recall, but haven't heard from the dealer or AC about the other service bulletins.

On my m800, dealer called me to do the jackshaft update, he took care of most the others before I got the sled. I'm pretty sure if its a safety item he makes the without question.
