Does The 2012 Pro Have A Break-In Chip?

I can't find any information on the break-in chip. I had heard the 2011's had a chip that retarded the timing for 3 hours at and above 6,000 RPM. Does the 12 have a chip, my dealer didn't mention anything about it and there is no mention of it in the owners manual?

they all say that. i think now its really just the computer counting hours or run time. with the etec they said a few tanks of gas and it was broken in.

The computer in the etech will let you know when it thinks the motor is broken in. The local ski doo dealer I talked to said it can vary greatly depending on how you break it in.

Dynotech Research dyno'd a 2011 last yr with a new ECM and then swapped it for a ECM with over 300 miles,I believe it was like a 5hp difference. I have not heard anything on the 2012s about this.

Gimme your sled and I'll bring it back in 4 hours and let ya know. I'll even post up some pics. EW

2012

My dealer told me that there was limited power up until 2.5 hours of run time. Never really explained that, but Im guessing they did it all out of the ECU. I had my 2011 also last year, was told the same thing, and never felt a difference in power really.

I also heard they had a break in time last year, but my pro ran 8250 right out of the gate, (after about 15 miles of breakin) I never felt a power change. If it was a small amount a guy would never know though. I do know that the e-techs have a break-in, my buddies sled ran like a dog for more than 150 miles, it burnt almost a whole tank of oil the first ride(about 30 miles). But the pro ran flawless from day one.

My dealer told me there was a break in chip. I took my 2012 up yesterday and didn't notice anything. Maybe I was just too pumped to be on the snow this early. It pulled full RPM briefly a few times with no hitches.

I was more hoping they changed the ECU to make the engine skip on the rev limiter instead of falling flat on it's face. Do not have enough snow to find out yet. My sled last year seemed to let loose after about three hours, but it pulled right out of the box.

A Few (Break In Ride) photos for everyone.
