Does anyone use a single sled deck?

I am looking at getting a single place sled deck for this upcoming winter. I have a 2006 chevy 1/2 4x4 shortbox. I have found a few websites that carry or build them, just looking for first hand opinions. I will be getting an enclosed later on, just wanting something for this next winter and don't want to break the bank. Thanks guys

What's the advantage of having a single deck over just putting the sled in the bed?

It's a hell of a lot easier to get your sled in the truck and out. You can carry two sled not just one. Gear can go under the deck

i use an aluminum deck with slide out sides, then it atleast gives me the option to take 2 sleds if need be which i did lots of times this year, but those slide in sides are sure nice to have when trying to park.
i run a 99 chevy halfton with air bags.

How do you carry two sleds on a single deck?

From the photos I've seen they don't have storage under them for anything but the ramp either.

That sounds like a sweet setup.

I have a full lotus single deck, super easy and way faster loading and unloading than any other setup

Sorry I miss read it. You can get a deck with expandable sides or get a toy up deck. With my toy up deck there's plenty of room under for my gear bags, oil, whatever.

If your just wanting to carry one sled. Save your cash and carry it in the bed. You can find good heavy duty Bifold ramps at most Ranch supply stores for around $120.00 put on some ski glides (ebay 40.00) and a piece of OSB in the bed and your set. Put the extra cash towards your new trailer or full sized sled deck. BTW I'm going to a Toyup for next year and leaving the trailer at home.

I have a single aluminum deck and it is the best 900 bucks I've ever spent on sledding. Easy loading, can load in the spring, put a long track in a short box truck without bending the tailgate, can still tow trailers, can still use truck normally and can take it off by myself in like 10 minutes.

06 RMK 900, That looks like a sweet setup, and a great summer project! Thanks for the helpful post, I think I am going to get started on one.

Its hard to see in this pic but I have used a steel single deck for years when I lived in the mtns and sledding was 10 mins away. Stayed in my s/b chevy all year round. Sledding or quadding it worked great. Same idea as the wooden one but a little heavier....made for great box weight when I was hauling anything. Now I use a 2 place with expandable sides.

Edit...found a better pic....it was in a half ton with airbags.
