Does anyone know the guy that sells rentals?

I spoke with a guy, I think in Minnesota last year. Apparently he sells snowmobiles that were rentals. Most of them are only about 1 year old and sells them pretty reasonable.
Just cant remember his name/business. Thanks for the help!

Does Arnie Ranta I believe sound familiar. Don't know the name of business but I bought a sled about 10 years back from him. He was located in the cities.

How is he to deal with? I've read a few things on here that he either took a deposit and skipped town, etc. I am looking at a sled from him and wanted to know if there are any issues with his busienss tactics.

I live in mn and know him and have bought sleds from him. He will tell you there are only a few hundred mi on the machine then you call the resort it came from and it has 6000mi on it. He cleans them up very good so you really need to know what your are looking at. He has never skipped town he has been in the same building for years. The sleds are a very good deal just no that there is prob alot more mi on them then what it says. Hopefully he is not doing that anymore since alot of people have found out about it. Other then that he does have a huge selection of machines to chose from. Good luck

Thank you for the info, he's got a polaris 550 iq lxt 2012 with 960 miles - sounds like super low for the year.... Is there a way to varify the mileage? Another place I am looking at a sled is from wesellsleds.com - they are telling me their 2012 iq lxt are between 1200 and 1600 miles and he's got three machines.

warranty usually wont carry over to you if you have a rental sled either. unless the company didnt tell the dealership/brand that they were buying the sleds to be used as rentals

they get alot better deals on warranty and pricing when buying 20sleds so the manufacturer wont carry over the warranty

The only way to know about the sled is call or go and check the vin number. Then call your dealership and give them the number that way they can look up on there computer who owned the sled. Usually a resort out west. Call the resort most of them keep very detailed records if there machines with mileage and probs they had with them. If arnie or the boys from we sell sleds asks why u want the vin tell them your bank needs it for a loan.
Good luck

not saying this guy does it, but isn't it true that a if a dealer "reconditions" the sled, he can put a different speedo in it?

It would be pretty shady if a dealer put a diff speedo in just because he rebuilt a motor and went through a sled.
