Dobeck troubles

Wondering of anyone is having trouble with the gen 4 setup.
Gauge will sometimes stick to the lean side or just show running lean. Sometimes it seems to work normal and sometimes i cant get my bike started(2015 fc450) i have checked the set up and all is done to the directions. Just dont want to sizzle the bike.
Thanks

One of the original Gen4's I had around 4 years ago did something like that. My suggestion is to call up Dobeck and let them know. The unit is under warranty and they will get it fixed ASAP. I had the fuel control module go bad on one of my units and it behaved similarly... overfuel at times and underfuel at times.

What do you have your trim set at in Green mode? When you get on the gas does the blue light come on when in Red mode? Remember you can always swap injector clips and it will put you back to stock (if you are stuck in the woods with a dead controller).

I was at 12.5 in green mode. Planning on riding this week and dobeck is shut down. Can i just unplug the gauge or do i have to unplug the unit feom the throttle body?

Unplug it at the injector/throttle body and put the stock connector back on. Don't for get to zip-tie up the loose ends--don't want that getting caught in the chain. I bet Dobeck is working today. Call them.

If you are getting weird reading at idle, they did tell me that KTMs and Huskys sometimes don't have enough signal at idle for the gauge to read correctly, FWIW.

Mine is doing the same thing

New Tuner has not worked right since day 1. I have been working with them for a few weeks now and have more rides without the tuner this year :( They are trying to get it fixed so we will see if the new gauge and power adapter fixes this. I am just about to throw in the towel on this AFR+ fuel tuner deal. I have way to many hours in messing around with a so called plug and play device. :bolt::boxing::twitch:

Hello,
So i have been doing a little deep thinking (just means I was sober) and going back to trouble shooting 101. I started to realize that when cold the ol' XP didn't start as quick as it used to. It also has a backfire occasionally through the intake. I was overlooking this while concentrating on the hesitation at full throttle from idle. Tonight I put the stock intake on and unplugged the Dobeck programmer. I didn't have my gauge hooked up all the time and would notice is run similar to yours. I think dobeck troubles somethings------
stye .

Well, I'm having issues too. Husky FC450 which had a bad fuel pump, now replaced, but it's running like crap. Low on power, coughing, dying, generally not inspiring confidence. Bumming me out, especially since my old YZ is running like a top for my buddy. I'm fully expecting a bunch of fuel in my oil when I drain it tomorrow. The lights on the gauge are going nuts all the time. Hopefully Iceage is working tomorrow.

Dobeck unit is not working correctly for sure--drained 2.5+ liters of oil and gas out of her after about 5 hours of run time. My buddy with a '13 SX with nothing on it (no shrouds, thermo-bob, nothing) had no oil in the gas. Time to unplug it and call Iceage.

Let me say this about the Husky FC450.... stock, even without the Dobeck, the bike does seem to cough and run richer than my 13 450 SXF did. I've noticed it both times I've been out. I've experienced far more clutch pull deaths than was ever normal on the SXF. There is something different going on here than just the Dobeck tuner. I'm going to do some research and see if the issue might be the fuel map or something intake related. I am using the TS Intake with my TSS kit so one thing it might be is lack of air which causes the bike to run rich. It has been ultra deep cold powder here for the last two weeks... hard to keep the intake free.

Rush--we're in the same boat bike-wise and with conditions--very cold (3 degrees in the sun when we got back to the truck yesterday) with deep powder. Let me know what you find out. I'll be pissed if I mangelated my airbox for the TS intake and it's part of the problem. You would think at those temps getting enough O2 wouldn't be an issue.

I have just installed my replacement gauge and Bat. power adapter for the O2 sensor and going out tomorrow to test her out. I will post results.

Disconnected the fuel controller and it runs like a top. Idles, starts, runs like it should. Left the shroud off to mimic the engine temps from the other day, got the engine down around 100, and it was fine. We'll see what Iceage has to say.

Ran with the tuner unplugged today as well bike ran great. Rode with another buddy that had one on a kx and his bike ran horrible. Think i may be done until they get the kinks worked out

Sent the whole kit back to Iceage. Nick was great about it. I'm sure they're not too happy with the whole deal, either. But, it's going to be a booger to get everything programmed right, I'm sure. Could have used NOS today--18" fresh over a decent base, it was all in. But, in reality, these things do just fine stock. Part of the challenge.

Mine works fine, but the controller is pre-bundle with the NOS kit (been running a Gen4 for 4 years now). I know the controller was updated with a series of safety features so the general public won't harm their motors and I don't have any of those features.

The issue seems to be with the controller at the moment (which is bundled with the Ice Age system) and I'll dig in and see what I can find.
