Do you REALLY need to change drivers when Turboing a Nytro?

I ordered a Powderlites kit for my Nytro and Dave said the Nytro drivers haven't really been a problem. I've heard they have been from some people (maybe just people who overdo a little?). This is a big money project for me so I don't want to change parts I don't need to. But, if I need to, I'd rather do it when changing out the track this summer. Do I really need to change them out or will they most likely last and only really fail under very extreme conditions? Thanks for input.

Good question,i'm doing the same with a turbo and would rather get it done before the snow comes and not during the season.I know the Apexs had some ****ty stock drivers get trashed with 300hp and hoping the Nytro drivers were improved.

No problems with mine I know some guys that let there track get real loose and they smoked them but mine were fine.

well, personal experience pre-boost, my track was BANJO tight from dealer...did this to them after three rides...

So, I loosened the track...and picked up a HUGE vibration...tightened the track back up banjo tight...no issues...

buddy of mine bought same sled same time boosted immediately did same thign to hifax, and spun a driver...my drivers are not true, and are being replaced with Avids...

moral of story for me, drivers might be fine if you keep track banjo tight, but then again, you will probably blow through hifax, for me, like loose track and will go with upgraded drivers, as I am upgrading to PowerClaw and Boost...

Yammies do not like loose tracks!!!!

stock drivers at 1500 miles!!! all boosted

Zero problems

did not know about the Yammie tight track thing...wonder why that is...even with better drivers?

I went all season on my stock drivers, over 1000 miles boosted. I have some avids I have been waiting to install when I do the track and rear suspension this fall. I was running mostly 12 and 14 lbs of boost, I kept the track pretty tight though. Over 14 lbs I am pretty sure you will wear the stock Nytro drivers down fast.

I could see that, I ran 10 to 14lbs, never more.

I went through the stock drivers in 200km. Put Some good drivers on. You wont be happy when you track is ratcheting the first day out of your week trip.

As far as the hyfax just run scratchers and you should be fine that is what I ran.

I did, never run without them, and had simmons fins that shoot snow into front of skid...but still did that...which is what blew me away...

I have 1200 plus miles with my stock drivers and they still look new.
As others have said run your track a little thighter then you normally would with extroverts.
I,m now putting a 162 extreme and i went with the mountain magic drives.(WE like them better than the avid drivers)

who's skid are you using and did you delete the boggies????

1000 miles, 14 lbs boost, MTN Tamer skid, no boggies, 162x 16 extreme, drivers have to be changed, they are pooched. Not sure which is a better set, Mountain magic or avids.

at the time, the sled was bone stock...nothing had been done to it...the pics were taken the day we took the skid off, and were putting my timbersled skid on it...

so, we replaced hifax, removed bogies etc. 220 miles later, removed the skid to get raisl pcoated and new track and drivers...hifax looks new...but had a shimmy from the loose track...

it depends how much you get and enjoy riding you do not want to spin the drivers on a sunny pow day i have tried stock drives and they don't work for memy riding days mean to much to me than to be broke down but thats my 2 cents
