Do you really mean it?

Alright, so here is something to think about.

When someone on a forum (not just on here) creates a thread about about how he/she lost there home from fire, or how there dog died, or how they need moral support or whatever. I see other members reply "Im sorry man! :(" and replies like that. Even though you have never met or seen or talked to this person...do you actually, truly, 100% mean that you are sorry for what just happened to that person? for those that dont understand, like when someone says "I lost my dog" or "my car caught fire!" then another member says to them "Im sorry". Do you actually, truly mean that you are sorry for what the person went/is going through? Just something to think about. Not being a butthead here or anything. Just got me thinking thats all, not looking for replies... just food for thought. If your not sorry...then why say your are..

anyway... :)

I'm not sure if most do mean it. however when my grandfather died I was on the max out thread with guys (and girls) that I talk with all the time at the time it had happened and they all gave me their condolences just before I'd left to go be with the family. I was thinkin the same thing you are AK, but when I finally got back on my computer more than 1 week later, thinkin everyone had probably forgotten by then, most everyone asked me how the family and I were........... So I'm guna say there are some out there that care for sure. Some good peeps here on Snowest. My .02

If I post it, I mean it.

Sometimes I read those & simply do not connect (not trying to sound cold, just being honest)
when that happens, I simply do not reply at all.

If someone comes on here looking for support, or simply sharing news, if I put a reply to it, I mean it! I won't say I'm sorry to hear that just cause everyone else is... if I say it, I mean it.

Exactly. In threads like that, don't post it if ya don't mean it. The rest of the time you just gotta sift through the BS using your own sense of truth.

My personal opinion......Do not post a thread that is looking for a sympathetic response. Some things are better left unsaid and not posted.

100% agree. I don't post much anymore, and if I do, it's cause I have something to say (even if PWD ;) ).

I'm with Maf.

If your house did burn or your granda died, I really am sorry cause that sucks ace. If you broke your leg riding, I'm not sorry in the same sense of the word. I'm sorry that your gonna be laid up, but not sorry it happened, it's a risk we all take. Hope that made sense.

You bet I mean it.... I've put my heart on my sleeve a time or two here, so to speak, and was amazed by the amount of suport I got. I don't post in a thread unless I mean it. I've met some great peeps from here. Many of which i'd conseider some of my best friends.

What he said.
I have been on here for a few years now.
During that time I have gotten to know a few people and if their house burned down or their dog died or whatever, I would feel for em. Just as I would any friend.

i really mean it when i post it and i think most others do as well because they have had something like that happened to them. besides if it makes someone fell better great.

Many times I've read through some post and thought, oh man that sucks and then start thinking if that was me writing it and makes me a little more alert everytime i hear about death or whatever the cause, i think if someone actually takes the time to post they care at least I do,, or they'd just skip to the next thread. I came on here when my good buddy died on the 4 wheeler and some people shared their stories about the ones they lost..

I'm truely sorry you are doubting the sincerity of replies to some threads. I for one would never submit a false sympathy post just to hear myself type! I can relate to your pain because my brother's wife's aunt's sister once had doubts about a post and the whole family needed a year of counceling.:face-icon-small-win

If I post that I'm Sorry or I say "Best wishes to the family", "Good luck", "get well soon" or something along those lines, you bet your azz that I mean it.
