Do Ski Doo motors last forever?

I don't know about forever but I've never had a failure but I did have a fouled a plug.....twice. My 2 - 01 700's ran great for 5 years, then 05 600SDI 4 years, 06 800Ptec 3 years and 08 800R 1 year. All mountain riding. The 700's are sold now, the 600 to follow this year to make way for a new 800R. Maybe someday I'll be a statistic but untill then I'm just another happy customer as are the majority.

Nope! MY 670 is still running with the the kid that bought it from me, but my 2005 rev has burned down 3 times this LAST SEASON and we don't know why. We are gonna do a entire rebuild this summer, including carbs and EVERYTHING, gonna recheck the timing and make sure that it didn't go haywire.

The XP is running fine with the exception of the DPM going bad but the motor is still running great!

They are garbage as of 2002 and up as far as I have seen and experienced. I bought my wife an 2002 800 with about 1500 miles on it and shot the rod right out the crankshaft. Shelled the piston wrecked the crank and the bottom end of the block. All the people I talk to(mechanics) tell me that thats just what they do. I brought the piston to the local shop and he said let me guess 02 summit 800 right? Thats pretty sad. Ski Dookie won't own up to any of thier problems. Buy an american made or a Yamaha. I have plenty of friends with newer ones that have all blown. I know a couple people with older ones that just won't die. If your gonna own a new Ski Dookie you better be rich!!!
