DJ Clutch Kit - Opinions

I have a 2006 800 Summit X 151". I have a can for it and added some vents but other then that all stock. I am looking for feed back on the DJ clutch kit from those that have installed one. I have read tons of threads on it and just want to know what kind of gains everybody has seen. I like to boondock and play in the trees. Not much of a climber. Only when I have too. Is it worth the money. From what I have read it is the best bang for the buck. Want to know what people that have them think.

I've never been a fan of "kits" but I bought a used Rev with his kit installed... his kit does seem to work well plus he has great support if you have any questions.

I have the same sled, 06 151 800x but I have DJ's clutch kit. My opinion is its defiantly worth the doe!

I know this is no real speed but the highest speed i saw was 75 on glare ice with my 151 800. Put this kit on and now i can get 100 on the readout on a packed trail. I gained SOO much topend along with quik backshift. Turn the clickers up and down for snow conditions and go.

Sounds like your pretty set too go since you have an 06 with venting, with this kit itll put a smile on your face, and make your buddies frown

19/45 gearing, hps can

I have an 05 800, put the DJ clutch kit on it. Works great. Joey helped with pin weight and set up and nailed it first time. I would highly recommend the clutch kit and the support that comes with it. No matter how much horse power you have it all has to go through the clutches and the DJ kit will get the power to the snow.

All-

Thanks for the feed back. Looks like I should get one of these things.

JC-

Do you have the roller or button?. I am assuming it is the roller. I am going to take it apart this weekend and confirm and then I will have to order one I think.

Sounds like it is worth the price of admission.

Thanks again.

I'm thinking about getting one of these kits for my 07 summit x. I have looked all over his website and all over dootalk and here but haven't really seen what all comes with the kit and how much it costs and such. Can anybody elaborate on it? Does it come with primary and secondary clutch components? Is it a "buffet style" kit where you mix and match every option of the kit or is it a standard kit for each style of clutch?

I got the high and low elevation kit so mine is coming with 2 primary springs, new helix and stainless pin weights. I should have it soon so will confirm when I get it. Based on email. Send him a question through his sight he will give you all the information you want or need. Mine was roughly $350 us dollar.

3rd year on mine---my 04 out drags 07 REV and 08XP. The clutch lets me engage at 3,700 rpm for smooth boondocking and revs to 8,100--moderate heat in belt---same belt since the beginning:) 2 Xs on all the previous posts, Joe is the most customer service guy in the sledding world:beer;:beer;

Stock secondary. I run empty pins on clicker 4 for 10,000'+

You should make sure your existing clutch has good bushings and O rings and Joe recommends using the stock belt.

This is what I'm talking about. I can't ever get a straight answer from anybody about this clutch kit. Even the website is pretty vague.

Let me help you on that one. MY kit came with the helix for the secondary, and a spring for the primary. The best thing to doo is contact him and give him as much info as you can about your current setup and machine behavior. (Normal riding altitude range, gearing, climbing RPMS, clicker #, etc.) That will help him put together a kit that is best suited for YOUR sled.

Heard good things about dj kits but cant forget winter brews kit. Really havent heard if ones better than the other but I run a Rooster Built set up and love it. Sled was screaming the last ride tell I nailed a rock. Guess its just to fast
Cant go wrong with either kit. :beer;
