DIY Screen Filter for stock side panel vents

I noticed snow accumulating on the inside panels of my PRO. I assumed it was coming in from the top vent on the side panel. Using Pet Screen from Home Depot, I simply put some on the back side of the stock vents and viola, no more snow ingestion (at least from those vents).

Nice work! Your work bench looks a lot like mine...with the Bud Light within arms reach! :face-icon-small-coo

Nice work, these vents end up being scoops when you carve this thing as hard as it wants, or end up on your side..... for a moment:face-icon-small-sho

If I took the picture 5 minutes earlier you would have seen on of these. mmmmm

quick dumb question, is pet screen metal or just material screen?

^ not sure why it's called Pet Screen really but it's a black vinyl material. Buy it in rolls. I bought some years ago and use the hell out of it.

Its pet proof window and door screen, I built a side panel vent for my old 09 dragon and looked good. When you look in home depot you will find it by the window screens and screen doors.

i found some, got it done looks just like the ones at the top of this thread, this stuff might be just like duct tape, a million uses.

Another use:

I put it across the front of the radiators in my F150. The grass that the guys put on the forest roads to cut erosion also put seed pods right in the radiator in the summer. They stay clean from bees this way too.

How did you keep it clipped down on them pegs? i know it has them metal clips on them from factory but i dont see how you kept yours on their. Looks good! I am gonna do this and maybe use the same screen material on the big hole in the nosecone under the pipe instead of blocking it off completely.

i took the vent off and laid it on the pet screen, then used a razor blade to slide the wholes where the pegs are, then slide the screen over the pegs, put the vent over the pegs and put the clips back on.

i put an slp block off to cover the big hole in the nosecone under the pipe, i post pics in another thread of how that worked.

Ok sweet! I am going to do that this weekend! I did see your writeup of the slp blockoff plate, but i was thinking about meshing mine just for the heatreduction/venting aspect of that gaping hole in nosecone! :face-icon-small-con Thanks again!

GMCRMK I like your use of petproof screen material.
I've only got 150 miles on mine and thought the belt squeal was from a too tight belt but now I'm leaning towards powder on the clutch.
Thanks for the info.

got mine all done, now i'm trying to figure out how to make it work for the clutch side foot well, i'd like to get any snow stopped from when i'm kicking the boards off.
