Dirt bikes + snow = very cool

Are we talking about Mike Metzger the "Godfather" of freestyle??? If this is the guy (he is all tatted up) u are very lucky to have met him. He is xtremly talented

We went to the 2 moto races up in McCall a few weeks ago, and Metzger was promoting them. It's hard to see from this picture, but John Down, and Metzger were both racing in this moto.

The only problem I see with riding my 2moto with my sledding buddies, is that I have to pack gas (I still have the stock - 2 gal tank) and my bike isn't as fast as a sled on the road (probably 50 mph max). Other than that, no problem. I don't need a trail or a road.
It is kind of a pain when the sleds slow down and I need to keep some speed. I've learned to just give them a head start in the tight stuff.

I installed craigger gas can thingy, helps. Until buddy loaded his sled on top of my bike and jerrycan and busted it off.

These are interesting toys,, there is room for improvement though. My one main concern is with the front of the skid where it meets the snow. Lets just say that if you hit a hidden obstacle will the skid bump up over it or,, will it try and drive through it? Also why not put more track under it, paddle wise you know, taller maybe more like the attack 20 or new power claw. Believe me I'm not picking it apart just wondering what a few more little changes might do for this system. One thing I notice is that you have to lug the engine when riding, or it seems that way from the vids I've seen of these kits in use. Which would beg the question I asked about the track being deeper lugged with a softer paddle. Because we all know with snow the more traction the better. Keep up the good work though cause I think you're on to something.

The skid will climb over the obstacle(unless its a stump or big rock). The track has a 2" paddle in the middle and shorter lugs on the sides. most bikes on the vids are 4 strokers hence the lugging. These motors make a bunch of low end torque so lugging is natural. That said, you can run them at higher rpms, but why bother? And theres no such thing as a sidehill with the 2moto. These things stick to a hill like a mountain goat!

I love my 2moto. i had the opportunity to ride on the track in McCall at ground zero with the legends like mike metzker, john Dowd, the Peterson's, and a few more.:)

The trail can be a bit hectic with ice and top speed. But when it comes to playin it is way more fun with some decent snow. Your friends will like it too when you're the only one to come and help when they're stuck on the side of the hill and everyone is to lazy to hike the hill, you can park 'em anywhere on a side hill ( if they really existed )

The only down falls i've found is gas, hard snow, ice, and when you start to trench it's sometimes hard to come out, but they're really easy to get unstuck.

Ice is definitely a down fall!! :o Trust me. I have learned that the hard way! Several times!:D

I saw Mike metzger at helmet outlet here in Hayden ID I got all giddy like a little school girl going to see the backstreet boys and didn't say anything haha.

I am a sled dealer and a avid sleder riding a m8 pumpgas turbo this year. I am also a avid mx and dirt rider and got in acouple of these kits and they are a blast. I find it hard to talk these kits up in my shop, sleders seem to be defensive of these bikes for some reason. They are not for everyone but are perfered by some over sleds, mostly avid dirt bikers.
This is my opinion if there is 2or3 ft of fluff give me my 162 mountain sled if there is 6-10 inches on a base give me my snowbike kit it is a blast in the trees and sidehilling into new areas.
If a sled is your preference gret they rock and if a snow bike is your thing great they rock.

It's all my doing!

Dances with Snowhawkaddict and Stands with Poacher have sent smoke signals all over the globe antagonizing Twoski's, closing minds and fluffing nortrils to no end.

Ya know, I like to keep an open mind on new technology all the time especially in the sledding and dirt biking world as I do both. It's a really cool concept and without seeing one in action I can't take an educated approach as to my opinion but one thing is for sure, people like SHA are definitely not helping matters any, only creating a rivalry between the two.

I mean, seriously man, we all enjoy out there being in the snow. The approach of "I'm better than you so therefore you should try harder to be like me" is not selling anybody on these machines. You would think that a better approach would be to answer any questions and be an overall 'go to' person for the snow bikes and hawks therefore encouraging a greater interest in the world of oneskis.

I guess I just don't understand why people have to be like that.

True

just because a few people are louder on the forum than others dont think they speak for all.. They share the same passion, and love to ride. and believe me they are great guys in person.
If you want to ride a snowbike.. we are in W.Yellowstone RIGHT NOW

I have both. Love them for different reasons and take one of the other for different conditions. I have ridden the 2moto setup with sled buds and had a great time on all occasions. The gas thing was an easy fix with a Craigger built can and I added some options for carrying gear on the front plate and swing arm... plus my backpack.

Basically breaks out like this for me: deep, bottomless pow like I rode last weekend (thanks MOCO and SWIM) I like to take the sled. I could have been fine on the bike for the the steeper climbs you can't normally go straight up without poaching. They tell me the turbo (KXF, RMZ) will do this with no problem. Last year I climbed out of bowls that only full mod sleds were getting out of. You just have to pick a different line. As for down hill... I just don't think sleds can do all the things a bike will... at least not with me on it. In the trees the bike naturally will fit in more places because it's got a smaller profile. I love tree bashing on both but the bike is normally faster and can do the tighter stuff.

On the bike, the whole mountain is like a big moto / terrain park wrapped in a soft blanket. Make a mistake and all you have to worry about is getting clear of the bike. Then getting it un-stuck is easy and it almost never goes very far down hill to collect the tree shudder (ya know hitting all the timber when you get pithched and the sled keeps going...;)) I really like my bike option ...

On the trails, the bike is not my fav. If I'm out on a ride with the girl I try to play on the side most of the time and watch out if you have a ton of ice or road crossings. But who here buys a sled to cross roads?

I don't know if I'll ever give up my sled because there is nothing like the deep powder day where you just cut it up and I love that feeling of laying deep inside the corner and hammering out just to flick it to the other side and do it again... kinda like lather and rinse and repeat over and over again.

As for the rivallry, why do that?! Is there limited terrain and only so many people can ride there at one time? Do we really care about staking claim to an area? None of the tons of guys I ride with care... and like sleds a single guy (HAWKDIC) isn't the voice for all... deffinately not me, and none of the guys that I know who ride 2moto bikes. Judge us like you would a guy who rides a different brand sled... rass him but don't hate him. One of my best friends and riding partners rides a cat and besides the extra time I spend in the doctor office for back surgery I don't mind helping him get unstuck. hahaha j/k MOCO!

There is room for all and the more the merrier... :):beer;:beer;
