Diff mains 03.5-04 800 rev

Why did the 03.5 come with 430's and the 04 with 400's. I know they came with diff. needles. Do the needles have anything to do with wide open throttle? My understanding is that they don't. Guys with 03.5's what did you run for jetting? ( all stock) Thanks

The needle jet does affect the mains. In this case it is twofold effect as they went from a hooded nozzle to a flat top. These all run fairly lean stock so leaning them more is asking for a meltdown IMHO.
