Diesel vs Gas "the price gap narrows"

I haven't bought any diesel for a while (thank you 55 gallon tank under my truck) but I have noticed the fuel prices dropping. We are headed up to WA next week and have like $0.70 off at Safeway fuel stations, I'm going to fill the Exxon Valdez tank on my truck on the way up and hopefully again on the way home while prices are down!

The new Safeway policy to stack the 10 cent discount is sweet. After a busy month of groceries and scripts I had 1.30$ off(per gallon) on a fillup. Just make sure you give them your card inside or pay with a debit card or it will stop at 100$

Here in MN at 11pm fuel was $3.39 auto gas regular and $3.99 diesel. $.60 is still a big chunk of chage extra.

Diesel will come down for about the next month and then start it's annual climb up as home heating oil kicks in and the added cost of winter blend fuel which for the midwest is basically coming around Mid october in the very early stages.

The days of seeing it below auto gas are going to be short lived if at all.

Diesel is less than the cheap gas at some pumps here, wishful thinking states that this will continue to decline...but we can still wish right?

It's been like this the last couple years. Diesel was .25 - .40 gal higher from spring to fall and then they leveled out by winter and stayed there. I still predict gas and diesel to be about the same price by winter and throughout. They said the said the same thing about the last Hurricane that came through the gulf, gas would soar because they had all the rigs shut down, but it actually went down.

Keep letting the media bring you down, I think they are hooked up with the depression medicine companies cause all they do is report on the bad and make it worse.

I was in the Twin cities this week, diesel was right around 3.85 all over and on the way home last night it was 3.84 until I got 15 miles from home, then it was back to 4.10. Just got off the phone with the owner of one station, he said he has to do what the competition does and they are "raping" you guys is his exact words and he said there is no reason there should be a .20/gal difference in 30 miles, especially when the price of gasoline is the same between the 2.

I saw deisel for 3.89 by my house and 15 miles away in down town SLC it is $4.31. So why the big gap in these prices?

the chevron by my house on foothill is like 4.17 still... head 20 blocks west to the flying J on 2100 S and diesel is 3.89... but its not price gouging right?

our supplier claims fuel is going to increase at least 30 cents over the weekend. wtf?

They just want you to fill up now so they can make more $$$ on the cheaper fuel they have to get rid of before the price goes down again at the competitor. The supplier I just talked to said diesel went down again today and to expect our price at the pump to go down "some".

The cardlock price for Shell was $1.22/L for diesel and $1.34/L for regular gas yesterday. There is talk of diesel shortages this winter allready. Inuvik was as high as $2.00/L for diesel last winter. Supply and demand drives the market in the winter simply because most drilling in the north is winter access only. Three months to get in and get out as long as mother nature co-operates.

You one of the Ice Road Truckers????

bought my first diesel june of 07 , fuel then was 96 cents a litre compared to gas that was 106, this summer diesel has been $1.55 a litre where gas has been about 10 cent cheaper.Diesel is pretty much priced the same as premium gas, within 1 cent anyways, last night gas went up 13 cents overnight, to $1.51 a litre but deisel stayed at $1.40 a litre. but it always trails by a few days.what the hell is the excuse for this outrageous price?

here in mt. its rediculous, gas is 3.79 and diesel is 4.21 here in town, i think they keep it this way around here cause 90% of farmers and ranchers run diesel pickup:(

highway robbery:(

What I don't get is that gas has a much higher processing cost than diesel (diesel is a more "crude" product)... so how come diesel has been costing more than gas???? WTF is that all about?

It's actually set to stop at a certain gallon amount, I ran into that problem last time I filled up.
